Steff and I continue travelling from the north of Portugal to the Southern coast mainly on off-road tracks following the Portuguese Adventure Country Track The weather is heating up as the adventure continues
Dear Steff, dear Simon, finally summer has arrived. Sunshine, light clothes, dusty trails, you're fit again, everything is much easier. I was keeping my fingers crossed for you during the last rainy and cold episodes. Finally life shines on like a crazy diamond. Looking forward to my ride on Portugal in late autumn. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg
Good morning 😊 Although we’d love to give a definitive answer I’m afraid we’re not going to be much use on this as it’s so hugely variable. How long you take to do the route Camping or hotel Cooking or eating out etc The route itself costs nothing it’s a free (or almost free, a think a couple of euros) download from adventure country tracks We use around €20 a day for fuel for each bike. Accommodation can be as low as €45 a day for lower end rooms in Portugal Sorry we couldn’t give a definitive answer but hopefully that helps a little
Great opening intro scenes! In this video I'm back to wishing I was riding with you again! Yes agree once you've been riding chilled to the bone in cold wet weather I'll take the heat thank you. Good God, the scenery and tracks are stunning. What an awesome beautiful ride. Love your scene selection and cut and transition between them. Cool shot at 14:36. Lots of time editing I'm sure. Always appreciate the map shots and local info. When Steff got stung and hesitated her speech a bit, I could tell by her lips the adjective was going to start with a B, and bugger came out instead of something else! Good job Steff! Thank you for the wonderful video, great way to start my workday here in eastern US. Peace!
We’re so glad you are enjoying the videos 🎉 I know what you mean. The change in temperature and the fact we were starting to feel better was such an amazing feeling. Simon here, I know it’s cruel to laugh but when Steff got stung I couldn’t help it. 😂 Ride safe and thanks for the lovely comments S&S 😊
Hei, tobias and i have met you on tet sweden. Sadly we are home now, back to work 😢. Hope you have a nice trip in sweden and some more challenging stuff as we had. Looking forward to the videos! Greets from desertx and norden901 rider 😊
Hi guys, it was great to meet you 😊 Sounds like you had an awesome trip, thanks for saying hi. Currently in Norway still heading north. The weather is really bad so you aren’t missing anything 😂
Hi Simon & Steff, really enjoying this series as I was in Portugal with Diogo Guerra from Off-road, off-course on a CRF 300 in early May, the same time as you. The trees at 8:17 are cork trees; the region east of Santarem is full of cork plantations. I think we rode through the same area as you. Beautiful area. Looking forward to your videos every week. Greetings from Luxembourg!
The trees are called "sobreiros" in portuguese language. The bark of the tree is removed to make cork. Portugal is the largest cork producer in the world. Portugal invests heavily in renewable energy and sustainable products. The country has already been feeding on renewable energy for a whole week. We are a small country but trying to fight for a better world. Safe riding.
I enjoyed your faffing and filming. So much so, I've subscribed. I found you through your kit talk video. You asked what we lovely people take, I'd like to add to your kit list. A pee bottle, I kid you not. Scenario, if you will. Pouring with rain, cold outside, you need to pee. I've been there, a pee bottle is a must, I believe the lady version is called a shewee. Loving your ride, you're a great couple. How lucky were you finding a female, 1 who can ride a bike and 2 likes camping, lol . I'll get slated now, lol.
Hi and thanks! We’re so glad you’re enjoying this trip 😊 This is now Simon speaking. I couldn’t agree more about a pee bottle. I have one. Steff thinks it’s disgusting 😂 It only gets taken on certain trips! I agree, I’m extremely lucky 😊 I’m currently in Norway solo riding the Trans Euro Trail and faffing about filming is nowhere near as much fun without Steff
@@wanderinghonda7963 Norway is a beautiful country to be riding in. That's exactly my problem, finding a riding partner, who can cope with my excentricities 🤣. Steff makes the partnership whole, I hope you both get-together soon. In the meantime, I will be catching up on your previous videos.
@hurleyflyer263 brilliant! Enjoy. Don’t worry the star of the show is back soon. We’re spending three weeks riding around Tanzania together after this solo trip is done and the cameras are definitely coming with us 🎉😊
Great video and thanks for sharing😊 Looks like you had a fab day riding and what gorgeous weather. 🌞 Just wondering what comms system you use and are you happy with it? Many thanks. Looking forward to your future adventures 🖐️😊
Seems like both the weather gods and the health gods finally decided to be kinder to you . Can I ask what distance apart can you be before you’d lose comms with each other ? Keep these great videos coming please
No worries, I’m (Simon) currently wild camping in a forest on the Norwegian TET, incredibly with phone signal so no problem replying at the minute 😆 It’s extremely dependent on line of sight. I would say probably 1km at a guess or more in clear line of sight but as soon as we lose sight of each other the intercoms tend to struggle and drop out Sorry it’s not a definitive answer but it’s really variable Thanks for the comment 😊
