HORIZONS!! I melted... God this is beautiful. RIP the original EPCOT Center and the many dreams it inspired. Today's thrill-heavy Future World is a far cry.
I’m so glad I had the chance to witness this as a child. So many beatuiful memories. My children won’t have this opportunity, this makes me truly sad 😢
The reason we who lived the original EPCOT soundtrack and remember still do so is simple: It was POSITIVE. It looked forward not with the fear and dread and political correctness and "austerity" of our current era, but with the belief that problems were solvable, mistakes were fixable, and the world was truly a place where if we could dream it, we COULD do it. The world hasn't changed. Only our prevailing attitude has. I invite my fellow "children of EPCOT" to rekindle that hope, and I' thrilled to discover this wonderful musical tribute not to the past, but to the "Future World" we can all live in if we just get on with it and dream it...and do it!

So make it a good one!" --Doc Brown Have the courage to better yourself in every way possible so that you are better suited to lead others in the right direction. Lead them toward the future we, "children of Epcot" and 1980s & early 90s Disney, had imagined. I'm not suggesting it'll be easy. I'm only suggesting it can be done.

I went to DisneyWorld for the first time in 1992. I was eight years old, then. I returned in 1994, 2000 and 2012. I always want to return, but my fondest memories are from 1992/1994, from my childhood. This brought tears to my eyes. I love those songs so much.
These are all the songs I sing to my daughter when I rock her to sleep. She will learn all these classic epcot songs. This gave me chills. Thanks for posting!
I remember listening to all those as a kid!! I was born in 1993, and didn’t know about them until early 2000s. I recall of them by musical rhythms, but can’t remember the lyrics. The most favourite ones that are stuck in my head are “Canada” and “Tomorrow’s child”. Thanks for sharing the Medley! 💐🥰🥰🥰

I found this by accident but I am so thankful you shared it. The music from the origional EPCOT can't be beat. I still listen to it all the time. Thank you for sharing the Magic.
I was there on opening day... (and before!.. as press). YOU CAN NOT IMAGINE HOW WORLD-CHANGING Epcot Center was! I feel sorry for younger generations who will never know what it was like. Much of the World Showcase still has that feel. But Future World is a shell of it's former glory.

Me too! So good. My only complaint is that the baritones/basses singing the "Come through time, set the course..." section are overpowered by the rest of the chorus. Otherwise, love it!
This is just AWESOME. What a happy find! I mean, I ask, who in the world would ever do a future world Epcot montage? THESE PEOPLE! love it! Horizons! ONE LITTLE SPARK! OMG!!! World of Motion didn't make it??
Sure do miss the original shows and rides. Just got to go on Universe of Energy again for the last time before it goes away. It's still not the good old version, but I hate to see it go anyway.
Vintage Epcot was the best! The artists, designers, engineers, musicians put their heart and souls into it and it was the pinnacle of Walt's Dream. But Michael Eisner came along and destroyed Epcot and took away what we all loved so much. 🤓
You do realize Eisner took over Epcot only 4 years after it was built? Which means, he kept it going like this for a good 20 years. I honestly don’t understand why he gets so much hate, he really tried his best, and wanted to make Disney a magical place, like the one he experienced as a kid. If there’s anyone to blame, it’s Iger. He’s the guy who wants to connect everything with an IP.
I feel its a combination of esiners cost cutting after euro disney and igers IP implementation. But we can all agree that chapek is one of the worst CEOs the company has seen

How is it that I am finally discovering these theme songs in the year 2021? And yes, "Universe of Energy" is fantastic. Were all of these songs written by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn?
Does anyone know whether the gentleman in the purple shirt singing "Energy (You Make the World Go 'Round)" was the original singer on the version of the song used on the original Universe Of Energy preshow? He sounds exactly the same. Amazing song and vocalist.
That's Scott Hendrix. I know him through work (WDW/Entertainment), though not his exact age. Thirty-something, maybe pushing 40? He's definitely NOT the original vocalist, but did a GREAT job!!
this is an amazing performance and also whish there was an available score. WDW should do a performnace like this when future world closes for refurbishment next year.
Maybe, but he also brought so many things to Disney World: Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, California Adventure, Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney Studios Park. All of which are still enjoyed and beloved today.
Christian Williams While you are right, a lot of these things are enjoyable because the company has since fixed a lot of the problems that were very evident with most of these things. I think Hollywood Studios is probably the least problematic out of these.
I agree that Eisner was bad for the parks, but he was the one to pick up the Disney company from the rut it was in after Walt died. he was exactly what the Disney corporation needed.
The D23 event actually happened after this concert. Encore Cast Performing Arts performed musical shows for years as benefit concerts in venues on Disney property. Beginning in 2015, the group moved to the new Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in Orlando. Encore is now presenting full musicals featuring the choir, orchestra, ensemble, etc. The first show in 2015 was "Aida in Concert," followed by "Ragtime in Concert" in 2016. A smaller ensemble performed "Godspell" in the spring of 2017, and in July 2016, they will be performing the musical "Hairspray." Tickets are available on the Dr. Phillips Center website.
