dang!!! 👍 such a great and well put together video! Super liking this unit Insta360 X2. Thank you for your time and efforts with all. Great to get such in depth reporting and reviews. ALSO! very cool SHIRT you are styling 😮. Thank you!
Nice video! Lately, I've started using Insta360 cameras on my rides around town with my dog.🚴🐕I managed to mount Insta360 Extended edition selfie stick (300 cm) with the Insta360 X4 over the front wheel of the bicycle using the quick release system. So, I can stop riding the bicycle anywhere, put it on the stand, and continue filming my dog without pausing. Also, I placed the second Insta360 Ace Pro camera on the bicycle seat tube to film what is happening behind me. With this, I covered the area that cannot be recorded by the front camera because of me, because I interfere in the shot. In this way, I can cover literally everything that happens around me while riding a bike, and thus watch all the runs of my dog around me, this way I get great shots suitable for slowing down. I am really excited about both insta360 cameras!
This was almost a “Shut up and take my money” moment, until I found out the mount wasn’t compatible with aero bars. @China cycling Joe, do you reckon the Insta360 Unicorn Mount mounted to the underside if typical aero bars (or mounted to the underside of your typical aero bar head unit mount) would work?
@China Cycling - glad to see you making vids again! Love this vid in particular. It's just what I'm looking for. Sorry if I missed it, but how did you make the shot from behind you?
That was just holding the selfie stick (the long plastic one, not the carbon one) in one hand with it leaning on my shoulder behind me. It's to show the angle I want from a future mount (so you don't have to hold it with your hand! haha)
@@ChinaCycling awesome shot! I thought you had a camera crew and a drone following you! You'lll have to show us sometime all your camera hacks and tricks!
Thanks for this useful video, shots look really amazing! Your setup is very interesting Action Camera mount to GPS Computer adapter is currently unavailable and i m not sure if the things I look on Ali Express are the same. Could you please give us a link of the flashlight and action camera adapter for the flashlight? Thanks in advance
Another accessory idea is an adapter for oval, aero bars (or redesign the holder to a lighter weight version since the whole setup is much less likely to rotate). Also for the collar screw to tighten the camera, they can borrow the design idea from rear derailleur barrel adjuster.
I'm curious about camera settings you use for the great videos. I just acquired the X3 anf and have only recorded in 5.7K 30 fps HDR using auto mode. On a recent ride in late afternoon, the brighter areas were good, but shadow areas ended up being grainy/pixalated. During the ride, I thought it was bright enough. Any suggestions on manual settings? HDR mode is limited to white balance adjustments only.
I'll admit that I'm not interested in getting one of the cameras, I just wanted to see more footage of cycling in China. Seems like a cool place to live.
I've seen too many photos in the Amazon reviews, showing that snapped rod, to actually buy one for myself. Apparently insta360 really chinced-out on the material for that mount.
There are Wahoo to GoPro adapters available very similar to this one. I have one made by 76projects. Usually they are not that cheap, probably because not manufactured in such high numbers.
It depends on the situation. Maybe 70% of the footage in this video was with HDR on. HDR works better on bright days, but INSTA360 themselves don't recommend it for fast moving footage. I actually shot a whole bunch of footage talking people through the different modes, etc, but it didn't make the cut because not many people will actually find it useful, the view duration will go down, and RU-vid will kill me - haha. But yeah; sunny days HDR, less sunny days standard or manual exposure.
@@ChinaCycling That is correct. I actually contacted 360 about my footage being garbage and they did recommend to turn off HDR when moving. I like the quality of the HDR on. It’s more punchy and vivid. Also, about the mount, Insta360 says that this mount is not compatible with the 1 inch 360 edition, have you tried it? I’m curious to to see if it will hold the 1 inch since its heavier that the X2. Thanks!
@@ChinaCycling they might not be as fast as road bikes but surely they're fun 😂 litepros are sold as frameset only here in Indonesia and AFAIK have different geometry than Pikes
I guess it's hard to fold the carbon fiber selfie stick. But yeah, in my day job I'm also fighting the fight between sustainable packaging and protection the product to avoid customer complaints. If a product gets damaged and has to be thrown away and a new one shipped half way around the world again, it stamps out any marginal gains from a smaller box, etc. But yeah, it's something all companies should strive for. 🙌
