For our MTB selfie videos, we used velcro + carbon fiber gopro selfie stick, plus superglue to lock out the joints of the stick. Carbon fiber was key... because ya know... grams count. ;)
Noticed that your camera is diagonal. Is that ok or does it need to be completely horizontal? I have the same issue and thinking of returning it as I can’t fix it horizontal.
I bought the third person mount but it didn't fit with garmin at the same time. I had another aero garmin mount also it didn't fit with that. Actually I don't know how to solve that problem

Hi, I used the sticky lens protector and the premiium lens guard on the x2, on the x3 i'm not using any, it's risky but the sticky lens guards really reduce the image quality. Be very careful and maybe order the sticky lens guards, and see how you like them. Be cautious because once the lens is scrratched (and it is super easy) you need to send it back to the factory
@PatrickDelorenzi After finding a couple of tiny specs of dust made their way under front lens guard during application, I decided to remove the guards. Just those tiny dust specs ruined a shot I wanted that was back-lit by the sun on a pure, blue-sky day. I bought a 2-year protection package for my camera. So, I'm not too worried, but I'll remain very careful with it, regardless. Thanks for your response!
Hey Firdaus sorry I missed this comment! No unfortunately only round - you could look at the motorcycle mount which has a clamp that is more adaptable, but is super heavy unfortunately

Hello Junseok, I woul try with the MOto Mount, but being very careful about clamping it on carbon components; i've clamped it to the seatpost with no issue. Otherwise you can just ride with the stick in your hand filming for 10-30 sec, it's what i do now. Hi Patrick, I've bought the motorcycle mount bundle. It's very sturdy and fits well on my gravelbike bar. Unfortunately I fell and the camera broke off. It still works but there's a crack at the bottom. I bought an Alanzi alu frame so I can still use it. You mention in this vid that the camera must be mounted parallel to the ground but in the vid it's not. Does that mean that the camera comes lose due to bumps? Greetz again Ab
@@PatrickDelorenzi Regarding the Garmin cycling computer mount, all the mounts seem to have the three prong Gopro mount underneath which won't work with the third person mount. I need a Garmin mount with two prongs underneath to attach. Do you know if there's anything that will help with this?

Yes you can use the original selfie stick as stated in the vid, but I wouldn’t use it fully extended as it might weigh a bit too much; there is one shot which is a bit of a tiny planet style in the vid, and I did exactly that - the mount was at 90 degrees pointing straight up. Only problem is the pole, depending on your bike setup, is quite literally where your face is lol so maybe you can’t do that forever, but for a couple of minutes (or if you’re on a relaxed / city bike even longer) it can work 👍
Know that my pole snapped and my Insta360 fell to the ground. Lucky the lens guard took the blunt of the scratches. When using this mount, you must slow down on bumpy roads.
Are you using giant handlebar? I am using the Giant Contact SL XR Dfuse Bar which back sweep immediately after the stem section, therefore everything I mount on the handlebar do not sit straight. I am wondering if the insta360 handlebar mount would fit normally on my handlebar.

Hey ADG, personally I would get the Motorcycle mount bundle because it allows the most versatility of use and is much sturdier; only con is it weighs a little bit extra but personally when I ride even just with a small back back it makes no difference. I have an aerodynamic handlebar which makes this type of mount unusable, do you have any other mount recommendation that can capture this kind of angle?

You could potentially rotate it on the screen but to be honest I never look at it, you just test it a few times and then you alway la know more or less what the angle is going lo look like ✌️

@@PatrickDelorenzi another question mate with the hdr video does it still have stabilisation I have a osmo action 1 and if u usd hdr video on the bike the footage is very jumpy not that stable. So how does the hdr footage turn out on the insta 360 x3 if riding with it is it stabilised or would it be like my osmo action 1 where it's not really suitable for shooting in hdr on the bike if that makes sense
Yeah not advisable, the instructions say not to do it - of course I did it lol took it off road with the gravel bike, no massively problematic sections but a couple of drops off rocks 🪨 Won’t be doing that again 😂
There should be another way to mount the camera. The rider looks like a cartoon character. Monkey tail mount I feel do a better job. Rider is not natural. Should introduce an " L" shape rod to get better quality pictures and videos.
@@PatrickDelorenzi hey you want the movie and the photos ? When you ride more than 30km/h and have some shake all the plastic mount break. This is plastic so it break… I experienced it and when you see your 500+ fly through the sky you are not very happy. I’m not liar. I tend to think that insta don’t do action cam but only very very good ( I’m fully happy of the cam) cam for leisure and light activities.
Didn’t say you were a liar, just that that was your personal experience with this product that might have been faulty, I’ve used it a bunch with no issues
In all your videos with this bike mounting you look hilarious, sorry but this is the truth, you have a big head and long arms. How can you say you love this mount when your videos are so "cartoon style"?
