Incredible game. I recently tried watching such games from the players perspective, but even though watching Artosis is possible and fun, watching players like Jaedong is impossible - they act so fast that you just don't know what's happening exactly, they often battle with the enemy while doing most of the work at home and not controlling the army that much. Not that enjoyable to watch a screen that changes 3 times a second.
This was actually amazing!!!! I am totally going to show this to my brother who I am trying to get into the game, just to show him how wacky it can be!
Spoiler... Those reavers towards the end are so tough to kill without losing loads of units, I feel like 2 groups of mutas and a few guardians were definitely missing from this match. Sending those in after the dark arhons use malestrom and run out of energy, it would be gg. Protoss is so op in the late game once they have most types of units out on the map with upgrades. Looking forward to next livestream.
Mind controlling random units from your enemy is great because you then gain their upgrades (aside from the weapon/armor upgrades) so if you do steal a worker and build a second base, you can get free upgrades and they're done so like you could have zerglings pop out with move and attack speed right away or marines with stimpack
So if you mind control some unit with spells you get all the spells that the other player have? What if he will research some new spells? You will have them too or stay with "your" upgrades?
@@sachib indeed, so like for shits and giggles if you mind control a zergling and it only has the running speed, you will get the running speed. If you later do it again and it now has the attack speed upgrade, you automatically have the attack speed upgrade and any existing lings you have will as well. It applies to any unit/race so say you steal a Battlecruiser and it doesn't have yamato yet then you steal another one and it does now, your first one will also have it
@@BlackRainRising So, I guess, If i steal from different players it will pick up the best upgrades. Like: I can have a level 3 armor for BC from one player and Yamato Gun from the second player, right? :) And I would have the best Battlecruisers in the game :D. There is so much mechanics in SC that after all these years I still did not know :)
ok im pissed im so fuckin pissed! like guardians wouldve won the game 10000 times over instead of sending units to a heavily fortified protoss base with reavers... like really? how did u lose that? i couldve won that and im D ranked.....
I didn't see him pick up or drop a single unit with his overlords... he can negate storms with them and move units around. They are free drop ships and are a dynamic that is neglected.

a question poped in my head around 36:40: If a unit is plagued but embarks in a shuttle, does it lose HP ? Furthermore, if a unit carrying other units is mind controlled, are the units inside mind controlled too ? I know there's a game where it was not, but can't remember if it was Starcraft or Age of Empires 2 ^^'
14 year retired BW veteran here: I love BW, don't get me wrong, but it's not balanced against Zerg vs Protoss in key areas: A) 12 carriers with 8 interceptors = 96 supply controlled at once, but you can only control 12 hydra or 12 lings at a time. There's a reason why multi-hack was a thing and it really only balanced the game for Zerg. (Yes, something SC2 resolved.) B) Psi storm kills all units, but plague doesn't and it doesn't target shields. C) Arbiters can cloak, stasis, and recall. Aside from scourge, what magic ability does Zerg have to counter that? Terran has EMP, lockdown, or yamato. Zerg needs another magic ability to counter that. D) Protoss has two forms of freezing: maelstorm and stasis. Every Zerg unit can be affected by Mael. Perhaps only ground units or only light units should be affected by Mael? Zerg's ensnare should freeze units, since Protoss gets two freeze abilities and Terran gets lockdown. E) Dark Temps can maelstorm and mind control any Zerg unit, but queens can't spawn broodling reavers or archons and their ensnare doesn't freeze anything? F) Psi storm is just too OP and it's too cheap to cast, plus it works under dark swarm and against air units. An upgraded HT gets 3 psi storms, but a queen gets only 1 spawn broodling. The queen should get at least 2 or psi storm shouldn't work under swarm. G) Zerg should have a building other than a hatchery that can build outside of creep for base expansion, perhaps later on and higher up the tech tree. It's super easy for Protoss or Terran to defend any choke anywhere, but Zerg has to build a hatchery and wait for the slow creep to grow. At least fighting on creep for light ground units should slow them down. Creep offers all of the drawbacks and none of the advantages. There's just so much to type of inadequacies and imbalances in the game against Zerg. It's a fun game, but Zerg is at a major disadvantage. Protoss barely has to control anything, while Zerg has to do so much micro, just to be even. In summary: Maelstorm freezes and allows a unit to be killed. Arbs cloak, recall and stasis, while Zerg has no real counter, but scourge (which, as we saw, is easily stopped with Mael or stasis). Reaver scarabs splash and kill so much, even under swarm, and queens can't spawn them to counter. HT gets 3 psi storm each and it's too OP. Zerg can't freeze anything. They can't give a kill shot with any magic, but only certain ground units with 150 mana on queens. I think if a queen's ensnare would freeze (@150 mana), it would balance most of the issues out. It's a mess and not balanced by any means. With that being said, where where the ultralisks and/or guardians when dude had 13k minerals to his opponents 5k? Easy to say, but hard to do when in the heat of battle. I love the game, but it's seriously flawed in this regard. I haven't even discussed issues of Terran vs Zerg. I was considering returning to play, but this replay put a bad taste in my mouth and reminded me how unfair it is to Zerg. It's close to being balanced. I think Toss vs Terran is well thought out. Zerg needs just a few tweaks here and there (e.g., a freezing ability or spawn broodling beig cheaper and affecting all ground units) and I think it would be much better and fair.

@@FalconPaladin - I like you Falcon. I’ve been binge watching your videos - literally dozens and dozens. That being said, it’s a little lopsided, this game. ASL wins in tournaments doesn’t change the fact that it’s not fully balanced. You’re a pro caster. You’ve seen lots of games. Do I need to list all the spell casters from Terran and Protoss? Zerg have 2. A couple small tweaks would properly balance the game. Perhaps burrowed units unaffected by psi storm. Or a queen having 125 energy needed for brooding. Maybe ensnare fully freezing units. Small enough changes. Reavers w/ shuttles, stasis, recall, disruption web, psi storm, maelstorm, feedback is simply too much. There’s not a proper counter on it. Can’t even brooding reavers. It’s really lopsided. I respect your response, but I don’t think your retort has merit.
A long time ago i came here for some great games of Broodwar I stayed for the AWESOME side stories along the way: Terry the overlord or the guarding dark archon just to name two
Jaedong is still one of the best zerg players. He is doing that as a strategy to learn about an opponent and win. Believe me he wins much more than he loses.
Still not finished, but I think I understand the scout transition as "There are overlords that allow the hydras to kill my observers. So if i make a few scouts and use them to kill the overlords, I can then take position with observers and storm/reaver the highground to gain control of it".
Not as much as I would kill to see you cast better. Not satisfied? Start casting and doing better, pal. After you've accumulated 50,000 subscribers, maybe we'll see again.
@@Myrskylintu Not to mention the humor and style Falcon gives in his casts. It's the opposite of Artosis, who is exceptionally knowledgable, but sometimes boring. They would be a great team.
