Not to mention his reflexes would be faster his power would have been greater. Even than Floyd was still best defensive fighter ever master at controlling distance and using his feet to get out trouble. Manny was always the more powerful puncher and the more dangerous of the two fighters but he never had quite enough skill at any point in his career to beat Floyd.

On a side-note, I don't think people realize how dominated McGregor was in their fight and just how much Mayweather showed how much of a neophyte McGregor is to the world of boxing with the way Mayweather approached their bout - Peek-a-boo instead of the years and years of philly shell, pressing the action instead of pure counter. This is why, I for one, really enjoyed watching Mayweather against Pacquiao for the very topic of this video, Trapping. There was a lot of that going on, yet ppl will say how boring the fight was - real boxing fans know just because you are moving a lot doesn't mean you are doing anything and vice versa.

Stop. He said he got pop, not KO power. Any man can KO anyone if hit in the right spot. The knockdown against Thurman was a hurt lunch. He caught him backing up. Listen to Floyd, dont let Manny set up. Keep touching him with different timing, and make he reset. And everyone knows Manny will throw a lot of punches, and won't connect. They look good. So, Floyd knowing this, he didn't run, but he grabbed him or circled back, touched him and repeat.

Floyd is greatest counterpuncher ever which means he’s usually on his back foot and is waiting for his opponent to make a mistake so can take advantage including in the Manny Pacquiao fight he pick Pacquiao off at long range using his jab and check hooked and pulled counter him when Manny got too aggressive. Manny was truly out classed during that fight. Floyd landed 48% of his power punches which is well over the welterweight average of 38.6% to manny’s 27%. Floyd Overall 34% connect percentage which is still above the welterweight average 31.9% to manny’s well below average 19%. Floyd is always above average even when fighting another all time great.

A healthy, active manny against floyd who fought McGregor, and the Japanese kid? I dont think so. For all Floyd's talk and the persona he lights to project, at heart he is a very insecure guy. If he knew he beat a healthy manny he would fight him again. He would have all that money he loves to gain and nothing to lose right? When you say it that way, it sounds like you're saying that clinching is the only thing he did to beat him. Yes, he used the clinch to notify Pacquiao from getting his flurries off on the inside. He also kept Manny at the end of his jab and made sure they both were exactly where he wanted both of them in the ring when he decided to land or set a trap. He made Manny hesitate and second guess jumping in because a right hand was waiting for him every time he did. It was all calculated.

Nowadays boxers almost rely on holding and clinching as a part of their arsenal knowing it’s rarely,if not never, penalized.
