Rode and their distributors provided excellent service and send out a full replacement even when the warranty was 5 days expired. Tent was fixed - clips in the wrong place, - and I have a new heater! But I threw a bad strop so apologies to Gaz and Nick. Hope you guys enjoy this x
@@MontyOutdoors good news man, I know their kit is good. I'm possibly going camping sat 2nd weather dependent with a couple of pals. Either Galloway or Highlands. I've a few cracking spots could email you.
Fantastic camp and video Monty, those are the type of camp you'l still l be talking about years from now. In spite of the things that went wrong you all had a great time. Thanks for sharing 👍
Mate. That's a significant reason why I wasn't out: couldn't handle the cold lol. Good to hear from you, sir. Was actually thinking about ye. Hope you are well too.
Brilliant vid Monty, loved the beginning when it was all dark and dreary, then compared to the morning with beautiful sunshine and blue skies. Sorry about the problems you had, but meh that's life sometimes and they do say that these things do come in 3's so hopefully that's your run of bad luck over lol
Everything was resolved in the end Susz but I am still remorseful for my anger action that Gaz and Nick had to contend with. Onwards and upwards. Thanks for your time as per x
@@MontyOutdoors Yes I love walking & camping. I converted my 4x4 to camp in because I go on my own and it gives me a bit more security but when ever I can I still use my tent. I don’t have the mountains where I live like you do but there’s some great walking around me, I can still go for miles without seeing anyone. Walking is a great way to get out when I’m parked up in different places, even if it’s around a small town, you see things you would never see otherwise. I also find it helps my brain to chill out, I over think a lot, having nothing to concentrate on and the actual rhythm calms the nonsense in my head. Take care matey. 😁👍🏻
Those views are fantastic and love the start of the snow. Sorry the few setbacks occured but you managed well and things happen :) Experience points for the next camp earned lol. Thanks for sharing your camps!!
The hike up and pitching the tent may not of been fun but after that it was an enjoyable camp. Think deep down we all know you do like Beinn Ghlas🤔 Good fun in the Nallo with Nick too. Hopefully more good nights to come because looking back this was a great two night adventure.
Good to see you out "having fun". Just looking at the woodland at the start of the video, checking back on some photos of when I was up there in 2010, they had fenced it off but there was little sign of any trees. 13 years later and there's quite a well established natural woodland there. Good to see what happens when you keep the sheep and deer off the hills.
There's some fencing around the point you start to climb and I think, I think at the beginning. Unusual little woodland. Out of the ordinary, but the more the better. That area has experienced bad deforestation of late.
I'd be worried the most about knocking that heater over and torching my tent! Btw any recommendations for a 2 man festival tent budget for around £100- £150?
It's in the vestibule away from the highly flammable vestibule. It also continues to stand on an empty cannister. Although you're point is very valid which I shall bring up in the next video thank you. Tents are flammable AF. Just but anything with aluminium poles tbh.
@@MontyOutdoors Thanks mate. Re the Vango... I searched and searched the internet using different search engines, all I could find were 2 used tents like yours. Facebook market had one that was in some easter EU country. Not much info that you didn’t know. 😟
*_Hello Monty... rain and stormy winds sometimes make us uncomfortable when camping, but this is a challenge when going on an adventure and later it will have its own story, it's true that sometimes plans don't match expectations... greetings from Indonesia_*👣👣⛰🏕💯👌👍
You tent having trouble again? The side was caving in in a previous video. Get a hilleberg, you know you want to. Had a wild country tent flatteed in the past, went for a hilleberg as reconned it would save me money as wouldnt have to replace damaged tents, and most of all, would keep me safe.
Moron here moi misposotioned all clips. Nothing wrong with the tent and it's my favourite for most camps. The Staika is a dream tent but I don't have the funds. Hillys are the best without a doubt but I have a high opinion on Terra Nova Wild Country
yeah not everything goes to plan, me and my dad have always put up a tent, in the dry and we have always took the thing down in the wet, Its always belted down with rain during the night. So the next morning the tents been packed away wet, also we have had a snapped pole too, which isn't fun. took Two mins to replace though after the trip.
When plan A fails just do another plan A. It might not feel like you're doing something as valid initially but there's something to take from every situation and most times the overcoming of issues makes for a better story and video. Just go with it! Content was great anyway. I've got one of those heaters for snowy camps to come, what was the problem with it?
Mate. 100%. Turn a negative into a positive, worst experiences make best stories, and don't let bad experiences get you down. Your words are rooted in logic!
Thank you. More to come and feedback welcome. Actually haply with this video. But plan to be more interactive, informative, and higher quality - March time when cam quality upgrade is due.
@jimmyboyd817 Will be spending Christmas alone for the 4 consecutive year unless my mate Cassie is up then we will be camping on Xmas Day, Eve, and Boxing Day!
Hi Monty, I absolutely love watching your videos with my friends. They give us a proper laugh. I have noticed in your videos that you like to portray the idea of 'extreme' survival situations. I am just wondering if you think the boys on the front line in Ukraine would benefit from one of those heaters? Perhaps they may just be a little tougher than you though.
I'm on a mountain in adverse weather and if something goes badly wrong: I ride it out. Tough, but I have the right equipment. You're comparison with Ukraine is ridiculous. I do not compare nor use the words extreme. Good luck next time.
@@MontyOutdoors I think the only person in this situation that needs luck is yourself. After extensively reviewing many of your videos, I am completely bewildered at the fact you have almost 11k subscribers. HOWEVER - I do think the majority of them (like me) are purely here for the comedy value. You state that if something goes 'badly wrong' that you will ride it out. Have you considered that you are putting yourself in these situations in the first place. Not only that, but in more than one of your videos, you have decided to go over uneven terrain, far away from roads and not even have appropriate footwear on. That, and the fact that you carry a ridiculous amount of weight on your pack is simply a recipe for disaster. Lets say you go over on your ankle with a 25kg bag on whilst wearing converse (like I have seen in some of your other videos) you may as well say goodbye to your ankle. It is now snapped. So, you are putting yourself, any of your friends you may be with and also the mountain rescue - who are a volunteer service - at risk to rescue you from an idiotic situation that you put yourself in. In this particular video, you decided to walk over to a snowdrift and pretend that you were climbing the mountain in snowy conditions. In reality however, there was about as much snow on the hill as you have common sense... not a lot. To top things off though.. you may well have the 'right' equipment. The equipment is only as good as the owner. You couldn't even pitch your tent properly in this video.
