You are both so sweet and considerate towards each other. When I watch your vids, there's just this incredible warmth that comes across from both of you. You give off awesome teacher vibes too. Thanks for making such fascinating and educational videos.
I dont think it would be bad taste, but it might not be their style. I think just the way they talk and behave shows the affection they have towards each other. It's a part of what makes their videos so good.
They are a couple?! Aw they are a adorable couple. I thought they were just like super good mates but it makes sense them being a couple now since hearing that. :) Love your videos!
I SO SO SO wish Onigiri was readily available here in the US. I can get it but have to drive to a specialist as in market to get so I just make it at home.
I just found your videos. You both make such a cute couple, I love watching you split the onigiri and give the bigger side to Satoshi, you must love him a lot to do that :) I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos~
***** Yeup! In their Q&A video they talk about how they've been together for something like 15 years. I guess it may be hard to miss if you're (possibly) not a gay man yourself ahaha.
(Not positive so don't hold me on this) But I believe Japan is pretty conservative when it comes to public displays of affection. So whether they are a couple or not, it's not likely they would reveal that to us, (the public.) However there are subtle signs that make it seem like they could be, but then that could just be our little fujoshi brains trying to find something that's not there. Either way, they're very, very adorable the way the interact with each other.
I like the crispy nori style. After coming home from trip to Japan, I started making onigiri for my daughter's lunch keeping the nori separate. I love the crispy, crunchy texture!
7-11 in Japan is awesome! We loved the onigiri selection there, along with many other foods. For my kids, who don’t like hotdogs or nachos, it was perfect!
Omg I was so obsessed with this I have 2-3 everyday when I was there. My favorite is the bonito flake and the shrimp+ mayo. I’m tempted to come back just for them and maybe try the expensive ones you have
Hi! I''m a big fan of yours. I love how adorable you guys are and how you are able to add humor to your videos. Continue being awesome but most of all, genuine and sincere in all your videos. ❤️
so, I had at least 1 conbini meal every day that I was in Japan. I do not regret it in the least - they treated better than most of the Japanese restaurants in the states. thanks for showing a unique and yummy culinary adventure!
I'm just a regular westerner and I eat rice whenever possible. Then again, I tend to cook more like an Asian given the contents of my fridge (three kinds of soy sauce, dobanjiang, black vinegar, hot oil, miso, mirin, rice vinegar, doenjang, sesame oil, etc.). I have an eclectic mix of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese ingredients that I love to play mix-and-match with.
Hi from Indiana, USA. Love you guys. Going to Japan in August to visit my son who has lived there for over 5 years. Your videos have been so informative and enjoyable. Thanks for all of your hard work and research you put into your video's!
Every time I watch you guys you bring so much joy to my day. I am about to write a 5 page paper for class and I am not that enthused about it. Then I watched your video and now I am ready to write my paper. Thank you, guys.
All the different onigiri's look so good. Yes please. Can we see more from the other combini stores. You should think about starting a food tour with all your favorite eats! I'll certainly sign up for that! Thank you both for all the great videos.
I just watched this on the train to Genoa, Italy, and all I could think of afterwards was flying home to make a pot of rice. Hahaha. I like the bonita flakes onigiri, and I am really interested to try the fried rice onigiri. Please do taste tests of the onigiri from other stores. Thanks, as always, for an entertaining and interesting video.
You guys are adourable. Sharing love and food. You have restored my faith in the human race. I'd eat anything you give mouth hugs to! 🌈 love to both of you.
My sister in law is from Korea and they have similar foods. These Look SOOOOOO! good I would love to try them! I wish they had them at 7-11 in the States!! Thank you for sharing!
For me, there is nothing better than the Tuna & Mayo Onigiri! I loved them, when i was in Tokyo in September. Had them almost everyday for breakfast :) I agree with the stuffing. 7-11 has the best Rice/stuffing Ratio and in my opinion, they have the best taste of all Shops.
I would love to see another update on this series but with ONLY the luxury versions of the onigiri from each chain. I know they have a lot of specialty and luxe versions out now, esp 5 years later. I’d love to see that!
I LOVE these. When I stayed in Korea I used to get them at Family Mart and Mini Stop. I also survived off of them when I was stuck at the airport. Super delicious!
omg you guys are so respectful towards each other: ''thank you for giving me the bigger piece!'' ''yes of course!!!'' for some reason, I found that totally adorable hahaha XD
Shinichi and Satoshi, you made my day! I am sure many people were happy to see this video. I remember asking a long time ago if you would do this (maybe other people did, too). You finally did the video! It's so great to see this. I've been in the hospital, and that was when this came out. I was able to watch it while I was still there, and it cheered me up so much. I'm home now. Thanks for these videos, which brighten my days so much! And by the way, yes, I'd love to see the onigiri choices from the other conbini. Have a good weekend! PS I have no idea how you ate that many onigiri! I can only eat one. LOL.
Wow! We are around the same age. I was born in 1963. You made me feel better about were I am in my life. I work 6 nights a week and don't get to see family and friends much so I do get depressed and sad. I enjoy seeing people doing things and going places I would like to someday do.
As a kid I would stay with my Aunt and Uncle in the summer. Every morning would start with what my aunt Nobuko called "Japanese breakfast". A bowl of rice, toasted nori, soy sauce, and either a piece of fish or tuna with mayo. I love love love the combination of rice, nori, and tuna mayo. I'm now craving it!!!! Lol thanks guys guess I'll be putting on some rice now 😋
This is such a fun Onigiri food tour. When I was in Japan a couple of years ago, I first discovered Onigiri [like your first example on this video], triangle shape. Because I couldn't read the kangi and the store guy couldn't speak English, we just had the sour plum and something that tasted something like spinach. Both were really delicious and in my opinion the perfect snack and so affordable too. Then when I came home I watched a samurai movie on TV and they were eating rice ball. So I understood that the idea is from a long time ago, which was fun too.
I was in Japan in May and June and I miss コンビニお握り;-; It fed me on the go so many times ;-; I will be back in January 2018 for 3 years to study at uni! Can't wait!
What a coincidence that you both made a video on onigiri because I've been on a salmon onigiri binge for the past couple of weeks I finally bought what I needed to make it myself.
I'm really going to have to try and make my own rice balls soon. I keep seeing these videos and others and think, why haven't I tried to make this yet. This will be my next Japanese food project!
You guys are super dedicated getting so many Onigiri and reviewing them ALL! My local Japanese store seriously makes delicious ones! Goodness, now I want to make some at home!
I just subscribed to your channel a few days ago and ALREADY I'm in Love with both of you! You always look like you have so much fun together and I'm learning SO much about Japanese food and culture!
Using this as inspiration for my onigirazu fillings :D I made teriyaki salmon onigirazu last week and my entire family loved it, it's definitely a good filling!
The last one looks so good. We can see the differences between those two onigiri's nori with the other's. Watching both of you noms all those onigiris make me craving for one. Hopefully I can get a chance to buy some later. My favourite onigiri from our foreign groceries store is karashi-salmon.
Nori and rice fans, if you're ever in London there's a local chain there called Abokado who do several types of nori rice wraps. My favourite is the teriyaki chicken.
It's your first video I see and I can't forgive myself for not finding you before! I loved this video, in little more than one week I'll be in Japan (it has been my dream for almost 10 years) and I can't stop watching your video for tips on what to buy. Really loved your reactions
I was watching this while getting ready for bed and I actually started to feel a bit hungry! D8 I've already ate and there's no way I'd need food right now.
Thanks so much for that onigiri review, guys! My husband and I are in Japan right now! Currently in Osaka near the castle. Just got late night 7-11 dinner! But now I know what to expect from the different onigiri with no surprises since I can't really read Japanese that well yet. Thanks! My husband actually had the autumn salmon one and he loved it.
Hi Guys!! Thank you so much for this food haul. I never knew there were so many types of onigiri. You have given me so many new lunch options, although Umeboshi will always be my favorite! Stay healthy!!
I really enjoy your videos and just realised that you got 6k subs during the last month! All fingers crossed that you will grow into one of the major food channels on YT. You surely deserve it :)
