I grew up in a house right at the top of the beach there and I went rock hunting everyday lol

Tunnel beach is where I found my first agate. Spring is a good time to go after all the winter storms have churned up the rocks.

It is an amazing beach. I have never failed to find an agate there. Do you have a pic of your first agate?

Ambergris. Likely a piece that size would be worth tens of thousands.

Wow! Well, looks like I won the lottery and left it on the beach. 😂😮

Looking for agate on the beach, you will find a lot of agate, all are super. Greetings from Indonesian agate hunters.

Greeting to you as well! It’s great to hear from fellow Rockhounders! Beach agates are amazing! I love it when they come already tumbled by the sea.

Thanks for naming the beach. I have been trying to plan a trip to Oregon coast from Eureka Ca, and it can be hard to get info on the good spots to go to. I know people don’t want a spot overrun but I’m also into rocks and I want my trip to be productive. Anywho, I’ll put this beach on my list, are there any others you can recommend?

I am happy to share some of my knowledge…keeping in mind I am no expert. Lol! I have gotten a ton of info from some of the rockhounding books out there. I totally recommend investing in them, so worth it. Tunnel Beach after a good storm in the winter is when you will find amazing treasures. Be sure to go a couple hours before low tide! If you like petrified wood, Old Marker Ranch, in Sweet Home, is a sure bet. You just have to call and schedule a time to come out. Happy rockhounding and thank you so much for watching. :)

A place called Bobs Creek on the Oregon Coast is a great time, especially in the winter.

I doubt it is ambergris, which is not legal like any whale part
@thatrocktalkchannel
@thatrocktalkchannel 5 месяцев назад
Ya….maybe, maybe not. Either way, I did not pick it up. It was left to the ocean to do with what it wanted.

I just wanted to make sure people knew so they don't get pinched by the feds if they do find it

Looks like a chunk of eroded foam. If its been at sea for years and from Fukushima, whic is still washing ashore here occasionally, you wouldn't want the prizes it could have delivered.

This does not look like rockhounding, rather like beach glass collecting.

Huh? I do not believe I found any glass at all. I am open to knowing why you believe this.
