@@reluctentninja, yes it is. I'm a registered data controller and it is entirely relevant to data protection. The Job Centre violated the first seven principles of data protection in passing the lady's information to the police. That's why only a PCSO attended and not a real police officer.

@@musiclover9361 I seriously suggest you brush up on the law "should not be shared without good reason" and a police investigation is indeed good reason. And this case has nothing to do with data protection anyway.

@@reluctentninja, I do know the law: 'good reason' is a subjective term. It isn't a police investigation BEFORE the information is imparted, is it? Information may only be divulged in order to comply with a lawful demand for such from an officer of the law. It is NOT the law that the Job Centre must supply such information to the police just because they do not care for the way somebody behaved in the Job Centre, unless such behaviour was criminal, which it wasn't. You don't know what you're talking about sir and it shows.

@@musiclover9361 actually it is as the precident was set several years ago and the determination of criminality would be for the police to investigate and again I say this had nothing to do with data protection. Oh when it comes to the law I know exactly what I'm talking about.
