Alan, it was nice riding with you. I rode on Wednesday with 3 co-workers. Did you ride 10-Ply at all? We got a couple of rides down it and that is where the big jumps are. Zach blew up his shock casing too many. I got just about all of them, just not during the same run. Though the trail is pretty loose right now

Hey Alan, It was cool to catch a fist pump with you in line this weekend. 7.16.22 Maybe next time I can catch a ride with you. Your content has helped me and my crew so much. We watched your snow summit new features video before heading up. It definitely shortened our learning curve on Westridge. We were all able to clear the big jump by the 3rd run.

Oooh weee! That’s some big air time man. Well looks like the jumps I used to be able to clear are now monsters. My palms got a lil sweaty imagining. Super sick man. Funny about the clack sound. One click difference on my fork’s rebound seems to make my cables chatter. The world seems to make more sense when I see you ride Summit.
Yo! Yeah...they're intimidating at first, but like with anything you get normalized to it. Snow Summit built them really well. If you land the boner bridge cleanly to dirt, your speed is correct for the next two jumps. And then with a normal pace through that last turn, no pedal and now brake, and your set up nicely to clear the biggy. Ha! That's funny about the cable clatter. I still don't know what's causing the noise. I only hear it when I'm rolling, and it sounds like a little nut or something in the frame. Weirdly, it seems to rattle more in left turns. Who knows?! LOL!
@@mtb_alan thanks for the advice. So weird about the noise. Sounds like a Nascar issue. Someone needs to invent a stethoscope you can use while riding to pinpoint those mysterious noises. I’ve practically rolled off my bike trying to bend down trying to figure out where noises are coming from. Happy trails buddy!
Holy... those trails look sick, im going there in 3 weeks. But I've never done big jumps like that, not so many bike parks here in México LOL. Love your vids🤙🤙🤙
Just took a trip there this past weekend with my 140mm and Polygon T8. I probably did 8 runs down Party Wave to Westridge. Those jumps are a lot of fun once you find the flow and build the confidence to rail to corners and keep your speed up.
awesome man! I slowly building the confidence to hit big air like that. We don't have access to much of that stuff here in AZ. Is that the mobius wrist brace you are wearing?
Yeah man...I've been slowly building it over time. I do think that working on doubles/gap-jumps (even smaller or medium ones) really helps with hitting bigger stuff. Yeah...that's the Mobius X8. Solid AF.

Thanks Sam! I did a vid on it a while ago. My thoughts on it haven’t changed so the vid is still mostly accurate. @@mtb_alan I was just curious, beacause I took a brutal header going down a steep rooty trail and almost broke my wrist. Two weeks before I flipped backwards going up a steep switchback..I fell down into a ravine and put my hand out to save my face from the end of a broken log end. I thought about getting them, but already feel over dressed. Sucks we have to way our safety verse comfort.
You did so much better than me last weekend at Northstar I grew up racing Snow Summit in the late 90s and it look so much smoother than Northstar great video hope you have an amazing summer of riding 😀
Dang..I still haven't figured out the noise. My main hypothesis is that I knocked something into the rear triangle when I installed those TRP brakes. The jumps came pretty natural but only because I have been working on learning jump technique all year. :) I gotta get some more legit whips though! 😆
@@mtb_alan ah yeah, had that with my finned pads on XT callipers. I used thin strips of mastic tape on each side of the calliper to silence them 👍🏻 In the end I just got i9 Hydras to drown out the rattles 😂
Sunjay is your best lawyer since he help you clear your cases. He help you boing up high & nice landing. Next is to find where the rattling sound. The cheapest & dangerous solution is to wear ear plugs. 🙉🙊
Yew! Such a good feeling. If you come into that turn before it with medium speed (clearing the jump before it helps), your speed is pretty much set for the biggie.
@@mtb_alan Any change in technique for the bigger lip on this jump compared to the others? Im pretty comfortable on every other jump except this one. Never done anything that big before
To be honest last weekend was my first time there, I mainly rode party wave. But couldn’t quite muster up the courage to send this one lol do you recommend hitting tombstone before this big boy ?
@@agnsprinting yeah. Might help. A lot of the other jumps tend to be more like long-and-lows or step ups. The tombstone throws you up more, and that’s more how the big one sends.
