It's great to see your father enjoying himself there. When my dad, a Vietnam vet, went back years ago I thought he was going to re-start the war. But he had a great time and the people were wonderful to him. Then I went back with him and my mother to reconnect with that side of the family. Word of warning though! Both he and I got the worst sunburn of our lives at a beach resort at Mui Ne. Make sure you and especially your father watch your sun exposure!

Vietnam could be as nice as Japan or Singapore if the Vietnamese stopped throwing trash everywhere and kept the food safe and sanitary. Vietnam doesn’t have to be industrialized like China. Just keep it clean.

Well, Alina does her Carly Simon impersonation but her Dad doesn't allow his dulcet tones to be filmed at afternoon karaoke. The scooter dining tour was very interesting and Alina and her father enjoyed varied and interesting foods. Not an experience that I've heard about from any other traveller to Vietnam. So as always unique content punctuated with the high praise of " That's not bad, it's pretty good.

O' so your dad is the tester🤣. Nice of you to travel with your dad. Listen, if you think riding a motorcycle their is hectic then you must visit Nairobi Kenya. I travelled there recently and it was quite an awesome experience....they'll fit you and your dad on 1 motorcycle and they drive...wow it's unexplainable, hectic and nerve racking....nice voice

Food tours are worthwhile. Certainly more adventurous and wide ranging than we can cook up (hah cook up) on our own. Especially since the guide has a connection to the shop, more simpatico. Yeah, those tiny stools, everywhere; maybe take up less space and a guarantee that guests don’t stay around too long. The constant flow of motorbikes, especially if you can watch an intersection from above. It is like a school of fish as the drivers flow around. Have you noticed how some women riders have a kind of smock/overall that they put on, I’d think to keep their attire a bit neater on arrival. Sidewalk motorbike repair shops are so fast in disassembling a gearbox or snapped starter peg. And yes, the mechanic sits on a small plastic stool. Finally shoat oat to Gordon.
