Serenade of Self Destruction is such an amazing song. Love this show for featuring songs that are not played much or at all anymore (many of their best songs were yet to be written at this point, which is crazy). Epica is simply the best band there is. It was fun to watch this again, I was not expecting this kind of reaction at all.
First of all - congratulations for this epic reaction. I own the DVD but am always happy to enjoy another fans appreciation. Along with the DVD was a booklet of assorted facts about the concert. At one point you wondered about the sheet music - i can tell you that a total of 7082 pages of A4 format paper were printed for the orchestra, choir and conducted which totalled 2•1 kilometers long. There a tons of triva in the booklet which just adds to the FUN of the whole anniversary celebration. Well done to every single contributor to this wonderful memory
As a Epican I salut you 🤘 It was fun to headbanging with you for 3h. Now Im waiting for you newer concert of Epica, and more symphonic metal KAMELOT with male vocalist with many female guest. Epica take name from Kamelot album. 🖤💪🏻 metal greatings 🤘🔥
Hey bro, everyone only talks about Simone, but no one mentions Mark's incredible vocal ability to have those growls for more than two hours... imagine how his throat turned out? I love Epica but I definitely love Mark... P.D This show should be a world heritage site...
Thank you for the reaction. That’s a masterpiece of a show, I can’t get enough of this concert (seen it docen times). If you want and still have some energy, you should check out Omega Alive. It’s shorter and very different (no orchestra, choir or crowd) but excellent concert made live during pandemic. Cheers and thanks again!
Hey dude, recently discovered the channel, loved your enthusiasm towards Epica, so I had to watch the entire thing again lol This concert is just something else. Ridiculous stamina from all the members specially Simone of course because she had to sing all of that 3-months pregnant This resumes the first 10 years of the band but guess what? In Omega Alive, the other DVD you have to watch complete, they kind of do the same for the next 10 years (well 8 since it was in 2021 during the pandemic) and THEY ONLY REPEAT 2 SONGS between the 2 - Obsessive Devotion and Cry for the Moon That speaks a lot about the quality and depth of their catalog Also, they just announced 2 more concerts with a live orchestra the upcoming year, which is really incredible. One in Amsterdam and one in Mexico.
it was lovely to rewatch this gig again with you! it's been a while since i've seen it so my saturday night was made! looking forward to more epica from you as there is so much more :')
This is the second time they played live with the same orchestra and choir. The first time was in Hungary when they recorded their ‘Classical Conspiracy’ live CD. Unfortunately there is no video for that but it is worth listening to the entire audio. The first 12 tracks were all classical numbers or film scores. The next 16 tracks were all songs from the band.
In the song Quietus, the first members of the band join in on bass, lead guitar and drums (Jeroen simons in drums, Ad Sluijter on lead guitar and Yves Huts on bass)... this show is unsurpassed to date...
Orchestral medley - the orchestra played excerpts of different Epica songs in a row. 1:20:40 - 1:22:15 the song “run for a fall” was playing, I noticed that you especially liked its melody. This song has two versions - heavy 😈 and acoustic.
Thanks for giving me a reason to watch this entire concert again! I’ve been here since your reaction to Skeleton Key… very exciting to watch you fall all the way down the wormhole to your first full show! I’m so proud… ::sniff::
I discover you reacting to the last video of Ayreon… but man, you have a lot of Epica reactions and this one to my perfect concert is magical!! I see you like a copy of mine… I discovered one day Epica and 10 years later I am a Big Big fan and have tickets for the 4 symphonic concerts that come in 2024, I can’t wait!!
Think about this little nugget... The band had over 3 hours of music completely memorized, and it was not just simple chords. It is extremely complex music and they did it perfectly. An Outstanding performance.
You will see those 3 original members making up the original line up from any video from the Paradiso concert in 2006 (since there's a few of then on here)
Now there is dedication to reaction but I’m sure that you have no regrets because it was amazing. In my top 5 of concert videos OAT along with the Vehicle of Spirit one from Wembley that you have already done. (The others? Pulse from Earl’s Court 1994 by Pink Floyd- Stop Making Sense from Pantages Hollywood 1983 by Talking heads and Secret World Live from Modena Italy 1994 by Peter Gabriel) Maybe you will get to those one day……
I’ve seen the isolated Sancta Terra video hundreds of times, and Simone seems so fresh and perfect that it is 1000x more impressive to realize it happens in Hour 3 of this show. How can she keep pace with Floor after going full tilt for 2+ Hours?!?
I recommend making a reaction to one of the coolest female vocalists in the world. Diana Ankudinova - Queen of Goosebumps - Diana received such a title for her extraordinary unique voice. Diana's best performances - Derniere Danse, Wicked Game, Can't Help Falling in Love, California Dreamin', Sweet Dreams, Human NEW: official cinematic soundtrack Baikal Each of these speeches garnered over a thousand reactions. Diana is in the TOP 3 world vocalists in terms of the number of reactions (about 17 thousand reactions).
The coolest performance that will shock you and give you the biggest goosebumps! ru-vid.com/group/PLQJJG9TMmSOB4YXRUgdxA-H-Fo_sjB3kZ Protection of the video-image (TV show only) about partial blocking for some countries is preferable.
I only listened once to her a few days ago but switched it off as I didn’t much like her voice, maybe I should take another listen. 17000 that’s not much compared to the number of reactions Nightwish, Ghost love score got! The most reacted to song on RU-vid.
Nightwish has existed since 1996, and Diana was born in 2003, so it is natural that Nightwish has more reactions in total, but less if we take the number of reactions over the last 2-3 years. Nightwish has 1.55 million subscribers, Diana has 1.39 million subscribers, and next year Diana will overtake Nightwish in this indicator.
Hey Daniel, 1st of all love your channel and suck 21 also. Great reaction to a great show. Its brilliant seeing your head banging, arm waving horns etc full on reaction to this gig. I've seen this umpteen times and I still get goosebumps and all the emotions, so i can only imagine what it would be like actually being thier...if only i had a time machine. I've see Epica last 3 tours in Glasgow and i come out an emotional wreck every time. They are super awesome live. Omega Alive from Epica next please
Hi! Daniel great video reaction. Just to give you a bit of history on a couple of pieces of music in the concert. The first appearance of Floor, is Stabat Mata dolorosa ( The Sorrowful Mother was Standing ) is a cover of Giovanini Battista Pergolesi's sacred music. And it's the first movement of a 12 movement composition. Stabat Mata Composed in1736, in the final weeks of his life, he had Tuberculosis, it is said that he died within 25 hours after completion of the composition I can feel and hear in this piece, the suffering, he must have felt. It is usually played in around Easter. 2nd as someone put earlier Presto is a cover of Antonio Vivaldi's 3rd movement of Summer, from the four Seasons.
@@AriasandtheNATION Hi! Daniel Thank you, I'm not sure that I made it clear enough, that the Mother mentioned, is Mary standing at the cross as Jesus is being crucified.
i was there....this orchester is the same as on all epica's recordings....and most epica members are corsevatory trained so most of the music of epica is aready written on sheetmusic...maybe thats why is can be so complex and yet so great
again great reaction must try solitary ground the official video or canvas of life live at orchard if you want a disney song part of your world the little mermaid and so many acoustic songs
Yes Simone was pregnant, but then Dutch women are strong and work late into pregnancy, just like Floor Jansen did her last tour right up to 6 months. She was quite heavy towards the last live performances.
Simone also performed with a huge belly at 7 months, but did Floor give three-hour concerts? No. And during her second pregnancy, Floor completely canceled the last concerts that were planned, she couldn’t make it
In addition, I have seen countless comments on many channels arguing that Epica are a copy of Nightwish... but man, nothing to do with it, everyone has their own way... I like Nightwish but I love Epica, they are the alpha and the omega ... I won't go into details because we all know what these guys are capable of, however I will mention their Omega Alive, it's outrageous, unbelievable even... not to mention in retrospect... in this show they were compared to Within Temptation who They also had a show with a symphony orchestra, but it is not the addition... Retrospect is the result of 6 talented minds, and a well-planned super production... So, for me, there is no one like Epica..
Nobody that knows both bands can say something like that. There are literally no songs from one of the bands that you can say could have been written by the other. They are soo different styles which is a good thing of course.
They got one song i can put in this catogory, being never enogh, that one got a bit of Evanescence feel to it, but rest is really not Evanescene sounding at all. lol
