Love Epica's drum lines, from all symphonic metal bands they have the most creative, heavy and interesting drum compositions, my husband is a drummer himself and I am so excited to bring him with me to their gig, he is a Tool and Meshuggah hardcore fan so he cannot stand even to hear about this Symphony metal thing but man I will be so proud to see his face when face to face with this marvellousness.

Arien also played the drums for dutch death metal band God Dethroned, possibly more up your husband's alley. Both he and gitarist Isaac have contributed a lot to Epica's sound as it is today. You can clearly hear the difference between the first three albums and everything that came after.

Oh good to know. Thanks to tell me. I will surely show that band to him. The guitar lines are also very very good. I do not understand much about guitar myself but it sounds so much more creative and fresh than what we listen on this genre. They surely changed Epica for the best.

tool and meshugga are really out of the box on metal aproach of Rythm. Yess, Epica's drummer deliver loads of good compositions to make the song more enjoyable andd interesting. Ita fast but also very progressiv because he uses lots off diffenrent elements too reate diferent drum parts on one song without being an overplaying (sometimes...maybe.. haha)

Great video, Arien is an amazing drummer. i love how he never plays to show off but still manages to put interesting twists and some creative fills in these songs. I would gladly see more of this stuff!
