That was an absolutely beautiful video & such kind people. You gals remind me of something my brother always said, “To have a friend, you have to be a friend.” You two are friendly & kind, it is returned to you every time!
Canada is so beautiful! Thanks so much for bringing us along. Those older men were so happy to see you ladies. So cute. Stay safe out there. See you next time.
Wow. Such a beautiful trail. I saw lots of sheltered picnic tables. What adorable towns your getting to see. The ocean, light house what more could you ask for. Just heavenly. What wonderful people you've met again. So kind. Thats a big take away for me from your videos. When I'm a little down, you and the people you meet always restore my faith in basic human kindness. It always reminds me its out there. Thank you for sharing all the kind stories along your journey.
So glad to see You again, My plan was to This. It all planned with hotels, did not realize that the island had not planned much support for hikers at all. So we need a transfer to one from trail-and hotels, that was extremely pricey and too much for me. One day I will make it. It is a gorgeous Island. Enjoy.
Glad your enjoying my country🇨🇦. Hope you go to Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. It’s beautiful and has some great hiking trails. Also The Bay of Fundy which has the highest tides in the world! I’m enjoying your videos. Thanks!
I agree with making a basic plan and just going with the flow. Much better than trying to plan out every detail. I think those that try to plan too much miss a lot of opportunities like staying in people's backyards and meeting all kinds of interesting people. Who knows someone may invite you to barbecue at some point ? If you try to plan every little detail and things don't go as planned it opens you up to some disappointments. By not planning every little kindness is more of a surprise. That guy had the best back yard that I've ever seen and you had your own little quiet corner. Waiting to see what happens next.
Just wonderful ! I love your music so much that I have created a Playlist from it. I can't walk on long trails, but my walks and workouts I do enjoy are better because of my Playlist. Many thanks, your videos are the trips I can't take.💕
Those windmills were exactly like the PCT... except for the bicycles, boardwalk, and green grass and trees everywhere! Other than that, it was just like the PCT! 🙂 Lovin' the videos! Take care, and continue to have fun!
You two are doing a great job showing off our Province. The Island Walk is a pretty new thing so I'm not surprised nobody knew what you were talking about.
Absolutely loved this! Super cool that you ladies were able to leave your truck right at the welcome center! It is always super helpful when these types of areas are helpful in that aspect! The boardwalk riding looks exhilarating! This looks quite a bit more relaxing (minus the teenager incident!) than your last bike attempt! Looking forward to seeing more -what a stunning area to be showcasing!
It's going great ladies!! North Cape was very pretty. Those older gents sitting on the porch were helpful in letting you know where to set up your tent and even get a shower. I biked 400+ miles across Wisconsin with a cycle group. Great experience! Took 6 days. It's nice to see Canada thru your video. Will follow your adventure!
A friend in Oregon just told us about your Channel. We’re from California and currently RVing around PEI. At Red Point PP campground near East Point right now. We’ll look for you on the road…
This is just WONDERFUL!! Not to be self serving, by any means, but I am SO glad the road has led you a different way this summer. It's every bit as much an adventure for us as it is for you. My maternal grandfather's people came over from Scotland way back in the day and first settled in the town of Tatamagouche, PEI before finding their way thru Nova Scotia and then down the US eastern coast. I picked up the desire from my mom to visit PEI and NS. Realistically speaking, I'll probably never get there. But now I get to see it thru your camera lens!! And that is just the coolest thing 😄. I'm with you in spirit!! Thanks SO much for taking me along!! 😄🚴🏽♀️🥰🚴😁!!
I love that you’re back on your bikes enjoying your trip. Proof that most people are good and when YOU put good out into the world, it comes back sometimes better 😀
What a place! Hope you get to meet Emily. As a mature rider, I always felt safer riding roads with a rear view mirror velcroed on the drops. Stay safe. I
I love how you didn't pre-plan too much. That's been my biggest worry, finding camping spots or food. I've got 3 weeks vacation this summer in July and this ride looks really appealing
What a truly wonderful place to ride! When I think back to all the traffic you had to deal with back on the west coast of the US versus where you are now, the contrast is amazing. Those roads and trails you are on now with minimal traffic is heavenly! Such a smart decision to come to PE. 👍
Kristy and Annette, you two are wonderful examples of the incredible synchronicity of life. We are continually inspired by you both, the way you live your lives. Maybe we will see you on the Camino some day, 👍cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Hi, just found your web site. Really enjoyed your first segment on PEI Island walk/bike. I have been reading about it and would love to bike it next year. Thank you for sharing. you are so lucky to find a friend with the same interests. Have subscribed and will follow your adventures. I think as an older woman, I would be safe biking it on my own. Cheers
Hey Ladies, thanks for sharing something new to a "Bread and Buttered" Islander. My wife and I just bought ebikes and are looking forward to do the Island Walking trail. The Confederation Trail has been around since the end of trains on PEI in the 80's. I'd not heard of the walking trail, but plan to do it on our ebikes this Summer. Thanks for sharing! BTW the branch of the Confederation Trail that goes to the South East part of PEI has takes you to some of PEI's most scenic shores along the south coast. From Murray Harbour to Wood Islands Ferry Terminal and then back to Charlottetown. Not sure how much trail there would be after Murray Harbour but the view from the road is outstanding.
Once again I find myself following your great adventures wherever they take you. I have driven from Oklahoma to New Braunfels , all over PEI, Nova Scotia, Digby (the best scallops ever). My best traveling buddy and I took that trip in 2018, we were gone for a month, unscripted like you said and just moved about the region and let experiences and things unfold. It was an amazing trip. Love following you two whenever you go.
Enjoying your tour around PEI, I just moved back here after 42 years in Toronto, if you're in need of a camping site and you're close by Wheatley River PEI, we'd be happy to host you, and maybe take a bike break and jump in our kayaks for a change of pace. Safe travels ladies.
I’m so glad to have found your channel. What an inspiration each video is. Your positivity is everything I need right now. Looking forward to your future adventures!
Awesome trip on the island! You need to seriously think about a mirror either on your bike or helmet so you can see what is coming up behind you on the road. A mirror on my helmet literally saved my life on a ride a couple years ago.
So wonderful to see you enjoying yourselves! I know it's another thing, but we ended up mounting a rear-view mirror on our handlebar which helped. Peddle on!
Just amazing video and so inspiring. I am doing the Erie Canal and the only reservation we have made is the train to take us to the start. We are letting the trip unfold for us as you have!! How wonderful for you!! Enjoy your riding you are doing great!!
Loving this! Brings back so many memories! I hope you take a leap of faith and go to Cape Breton Island, the Cabot Trail is nice but I don't know how bicycle friendly the road is and since you're so close you might as well see Newfoundland! At least the national parks :) I mean when would you get so close again? The people are lovely... really can't explain it...something that has to be experienced.
Thank you for sharing. What a fun video. We’re sitting up in Mammoth after a day of riding in the cold chilly rain in the RV cooking dinner and watching your video.
Thanks for showing the map to bring it all into perspective. You're showing us the sights and I feel like I'm on a tour. How nice that the gentleman let you pitch camp in his backyard and take showers. What more could you ask for?
The Maritime hospitality is well known in Canada 😄 the idjit kid hanging out the car window scaring you is an anomaly. Probably not from the Maritimes 😉 I just found out about this trail earlier this year myself, and I'm Canadian! I've added it to my bucket list. I need a bigger bucket 😂🤣 Enjoy ladies! It's a beautiful place. And now I've got Stompin' Tom Connors "Bud the Spud" stuck in my head.
Beautiful scenery....fun to watch. sorry to hear about the kid/car getting to close for comfort. have you guys ever tried the mirrors that you can attach to your glasses so you can see some of what is coming up behind you...I used to ride in my 20s and used them.
What a beautiful spot to camp the first night. And to be able to leave your truck at the visitor center is amazing. So sorry those boys were acting like idiots in the car. Brains are not completely developed at that age, I guess. 😟
Wife and I are considering doing PEI next summer. Are the non-paved portions of the Island Walk/Confederation Trail suitable for road bikes? Your bikes appear to be a cross between a road bike and a cruiser (i.e. wider tires)
Looks like a beautiful place! I kid you not -- I was sitting here eating mashed potatoes (that I doctored up of course), and you guys are eating mashed potatoes, while talking about the Potato Museum ... what!?! That is "Spud-tacular!" Keep on exploring --- life is now ☮♥
How cool. I love the hatssss! Super island. That would have been disaster. Anybody that touches you is simple battery. Scary for sure. In my neck of woods they doing drive by high power water guns at bikers. So upset.
Wow ... Looks like off to a real great start. Good to hear that all turned out OK with the guys in the car ... Scary!! When do you hit French River area ... Let me know - maybe an overnight on Sat night?
@@wanderwomenkristyannette5021 ok - I just saw your recent video ... Yes you've passed me ... Not sure how long you're on the island but will try to connect.
Sorry I haven't been able to text the last couple of weeks my grandchildren mother passed away after a few weeks of her being real sick. But you guys have got me threw this,to give me the strength to be there for the kids. At their ages it hard for them the boy is 9 and the girl is 12 . They lived me now for almost 3 years now so that helps. But I am still here going on your adventure with you all. God bless you guys be safe.
Please be careful! I would love hearing more of the bikes actual sounds than the music: nature the wind, the birds, the gravel under the wheels...the real stuff..this looks like an amazing ride!!
Another beautiful video! Thanks, WaWo! When I taught elementary grade “Gifted… and Yet Socially Challenged” 4th, 5th, and 6th graders in California, I always explained that Canadians are like the good kids on the playground… “sharing, caring, intelligent, and kind…” Your experiences on P.E.I. are showing the timelessness of that truth. Ride on! 👏💚🪷🌞
