Witnesses of the Book of Mormon-Insights Episode 11: In 1845, former member of the Church James Strang claimed to have found ancient metal plates. What were the Voree Plates?
This is Episode 11 of a series compiled from the many interviews conducted during the course of the Witnesses film project. This series of mini-films is being released each Saturday at 7pm MDT. These additional resources are hosted by Camrey Bagley Fox, who played Emma Smith in Witnesses, as she introduces and visits with a variety of experts. These individuals answer questions or address accusations against the witnesses, also helping viewers understand the context of the times in which the witnesses lived. This week we feature Gerrit Dirkmaat, Associate Professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University.

I really hope an extended edition of Witnesses gets released with all of the footage that is included in the intros of these episodes.

I'm really interested in these videos, but I'm a bit disappointed that they don't provide more detail about the actual plates discussed. What did they say? Did they actually exist? Were they proven false? You showed a page with some characters, but didn't talk about them. I felt the same way about the Kinderhook video. I don't think I could actually explain much of anything about either plates after watching the videos. Not meaning to be negative, just want to provide some hopefully constructive criticism.
