I absolutely love your skirts! As it's summer, I have also been on a bit of a sewing kick and just love those projects that allow you to use up every last bit of fabric. I completely agree with you on Lessons in Chemistry and the fact that it should come with trigger warnings. I saw a lot of people that typically read romance (Emily Henry as an example) recommend it and was shocked when I realized it is absolutely NOT romance. I did enjoy it once I finished it. I casted off my Sunkissed Stripes while spending time with you this morning. Speak soon! xo - Mia 🤍

Hi Mia!!! Thank you for spending some time with me as always!!! THANK YOU for saying how you felt about Lesson in Chemistry. I was like...what am I missing?!!? Am I the ONLY one who feels this way?!?! AHHH!! You're done!!! Look forward to seeing the finished project and oogle over how you style it!! I'm hoping to finish my Sunkissed Stripes over the next few days. Take care and talk soon!

I love the look of the echinacea variety you have growing in your garden! I have been on the fence for so long to knot the half and half wrap but you are very persuasive and now I feel like I must cast one on now...or yesterday! 😊Thanks for all you share!

Zinnias have the HAPPIEST colors! Enjoyed all your makes! Okay, now I must check out Santolina yarn… I’ve been looking for a nice, easy care yarn for a summer top when it’s so (ugh!) hot. Which probably won’t get made/finished this summer. My projects are all over the place! Sweaters to shawls to mitts… as well as all over the home (in some pretty nifty bags/satchels/cases)!! Thanks for another lovely Garden Tour…Bumblebees are very busy!

Love your beautiful zinnias. I planted zinnias in a flower bed my father encouraged me to plant when I was in elementary school. They did quite well. Enjoyed seeing all of your lovely works, especially your peach lily tee and reversible hat.

You inspired me to grow cut flowers this year. I got some seeds from a local shop here, but also I got some zinnia seeds from floret and they are growing. Now watching your zinnia cuts in a vase, again you have inspired me to get out there and cut some to bring inside.

I like the skirts you've made; yay for sewing! The print you're wearing is fresh and modern. The orange one is a zippy smile and the soft denim one is wonderful. Smart of you to serge pieces before sewing pieces together. I may try that sometime. I had to do that for the pockets I had added to my latest dress and also serge where they attach because from past experience in the end, there were areas that were raw edges. I look forward to seeing more development of your latest Half and Half; I think it's awesome how you love that pattern and have made several versions of it. This latest though is amazing! You are a natural with stitch counts and color, Steph. Your book reviews are honest; I appreciate that about you. I understand how sometimes, the hype is just hype. I enjoyed Book Lovers and Beach Read because of the tensions between the main couple. The third one I didn't; the jumping around from the present to the past was choppy for me and it didn't really explain how or why they got together. Good to know about the Troublesome Creek book; I have that on my TBR. Glad you found some books you are enjoying. I went through a period where I was DNF'ing books because none spoke to me or vibed with me.

Thank you so much Stef for your thoughtful words! I'm thinking of getting some deep teal linen fabric for a pair of trousers and another elastic-high-waisted skirt.... Thank you for your kind comments - you're words boost my confidence. We never know how we'll be received when we spew things out into the internet and I wouldn't change how I feel about something based on how others might perceive me but it's still nerve-wracking nonetheless putting myself out there!! Take care and talk soon friend!

Your garden ❤ tomatoes don't do great in Western Oregon but they really are having a difficult year this year. Next year I'm just going to plant cherry toms and buy our favored heirlooms from the farms. I adore working with santolina. It feels like such a privilege to work with. I find the colourways consistent enough that I can buy 2-3 at a time until I have enough for the projects. And of course the Purl Soho sales are excellent! Our pineapple sage is prolific this year (also mints and nettles are still going!). I found the pineapple taste sticks around in teas and soda type drinks and when we baked it with fish (broth). Wow! I wrote to much, as usual😂 Cheers to you being creative and share with us 🌻📚🌿

Hi Nico!!! Excellent tomato plan. Right?!!? I'm so glad there is Santolina. That's awesome that your pineapple sage is growing so well too - great tips on the flavor profile. You never write too much (IMO!) - I always look forward to reading what you have to say. Take care!❤️

I love the skirts you made! I'm just getting back into sewing, and I find myself not wanting to use any of the patterns I ordered. It's making it more confusing in a weird way. I'll be trying to draft up some lounge pants this weekend, and I'm definitely more inspired after seeing your pieces. 😄
@EdibleThoughtsMakes
@EdibleThoughtsMakes Год назад
Oh thank you so much!!! I honestly find some patterns more confusing than going through the thought process myself - caveat is that I don't usually choose anything very complicated to begin with because complicated things are generally not very enjoyable for me (too many hazard points where things can go wrong!!). Best wishes to you!! You've got this❤️

And it is currently September as I am watching this September 20 24 and I am preparing for Christmas gifts and I just measured both of my son-in-law’s heads so I can make them hats, and I love both the hats you shared in this video. The Slightly Sassy V would look really nice as a dress I think, your tee is perfect. I also am loving those hats, especially the ribbed one it's so nice. All your flowers are beautiful, I was wondering what the purpley blue one was that has the petals looking sort of shredded? So unique I think! Thanks Stephanie!!

Thank you so much! I think the flower you’re asking about is bee balm! Also known as wild bergamot. We have three colors - red, pink, purple!! They smell like bergamot and attract bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies!

As always, you have such an array of beautiful flowers! I am growing my first garden of tomatoes since moving to the west coast and have an abundant for the first time. When I lived in the east coast, tomatoes were always eaten by squirrels and chipmunks 😢! How do you keep ur tomatoes through the winter season? Do you store them in the refrigerator or just in the pantry? I would love your advice on that! Thanks for always making informative videos 🌸💗

Loved this episode. I do charity knitting for kids (mostly socks). Can you tell me what the foot lengths are for both sizes and which sock blockers you are using to show them? They appear to be different sizes. Many thanks. nycSox
@EdibleThoughtsMakes
@EdibleThoughtsMakes Год назад
Hi! My treasured sock blockers were made by someone who has since passed away. For my 10 year old, the foot length is 8.25". For my 7 year old, the foot length is 7.25". This chart may be useful: www.craftyarncouncil.com/standards/foot-size-charts What could also help you out is this free sock pattern (with measurements) by Susan B Anderson (maybe you have it already??): blueskyfibers.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/ribbed-socks-for-kids-11.pdf.

Hi Stephanie, I'm in western North Carolina, and it is hot! I have a good book to recommend, it's called Out of the Clear Blue Sky, it's set on Cape Cod, by Kristan Higgins,. There are places in the book where I laughed so hard I couldn't see to read. All the way through the book you're pulling for the heroine, it's not depressing, or angst ridden, even though it begins with her marriage breaking up Out of the Clear Blue Sky. On a knitting note... I love your Half & Half, I still haven't started my first one, but I do have the yarn. I"m knitting a Tolsta Tee in Orchid pink, it's looking good, I hope I like the fit, if I do it will be the first time I've ever liked the fit of a sweater that I've made. Your sweaters and skirts are lovely, and they fit you perfectly!

I've read several good reviews recently of the historical fiction book titled "Rebel Daughter" by Lori Banov Kaufmann. The story is set in ancient Jerusalem in the First Century CE. The author has included an historical synopsis of the times and events surrounding the story. The book is considered YA, but adult readers are enjoying it as well. Ms. Kaufmann grew up in the United States. She and her family have lived in Israel for about 37 years.
