Thanks you guys! I live in the Pacific Northwest, but it is always cool to learn about other regions. I literally knew nothing about Indiana prior to watching your video
I really like the lean-to style of the modern prairie home at 16:22 - you'll have to share a link of what it looks like when completed (which I'm sure it is already... given that it's more than 2.5 years later). Thanks for covering this topic!
Nothing wrong with you at all. Modern styles specifically reject all the classical language of architecture. Of course it makes you uncomfortable and out of place, even subtly homeless. It's supposed to. It's doing everything it can to deny you any comfort and familiarity.
I would love for Queen Anne or something else that's pretty to come into style. In Colorado the houses are almost all boxy, plain, mud brown, ugly buildings. I'd like for new builds to adhere more tightly to historical styles if they're referencing any. Please I beg you or any builder to move away from open concept plans.
Flat roof modern is horrendously terrible God awful design. I don't know what people see in it. Flat roofs belong on commercial buildings not on homes. I'll never hire an architect that specializes in flat roof modern designs. Such an eye sore.
