Welcome back everyone. Happy birthday John. Sad I missed this show but I was at a work conference but at least it was at the home of the Chicago Fest….Hyatt Regency Ohare.
Great show guys! Enjoyed it. I’d include Real Love and Free As A Bird among John songs that have been under appreciated . Also Mucho Mungo And I’m Losing You. . I agree with most of the songs selected. Glad to have TMT back!!
Great episode gang! My favorite Mind Games songs (outside of the amazing title track) Out the Blue, Intuition and Meat City. Favorite underrated Lennon Beatles are Ask Me Why, Not a Second Time and You’re Going To Lose That Girl. Favorite Solo Lennon: Going Down on Love, I Don’t Wanna Face It, Borrowed Time. Thanks again!
There are so many underrated John solo songs and Beatles songs so it was easy to make these lists 1. I don’t want to spoil the party 🎈 2. Not a second time 3. Good 👍 morning, good morning 😃🌞☀️ 1. Out the blue 2. You are here 3. Intuition 1. Scared 😱 2. Borrowed time ⏰ 3. I don’t wanna face it. I don’t want to spoil the party I’ve known since I was a kid and it was on our jukebox as the B side to 8 days a week.
Great episode guys!! Hopefully you guys are also aware of the May Pang film coming out on October 13th (few days from now).. I know it wasn’t mentioned so I’m bringing it to your attention. Hopefully we’ll see you guys eventually dedicate an episode to the doc once everyone sees it.
Well maybe it isn't Paul McCartney's responsibility to help with the medical bills. But what I'm about to say is a true story because I was witness to it. One of my good friends was a Blues guitar player and close friends to Mick Fleetwood. The number of years ago my friend contracted pneumonia. My friend want to the hospital. Mick Fleetwood paid for everything out of pocket. Then a few years later. My friend fell and broke his leg. And had to get spend the holidays by himself. At least he thought so. Mick Fleetwood calls my friend and tells him that he is more than welcome to come to Hawaii and the entire trip and fair is paid for by Mick Fleetwood. And not only that Mick Fleetwood paid my friend to play at his club. I guess just some people are different. Again everyone thanks for listening.
Denny is a talented musician but I went off him a bit around 1995. I don't wish Denny any ill health. When me and 3 friends saw him play live in a Leeds pub, he didn't communicate at all with the small paying audience. Didn't say anything at all or exude any warmth. Zilch. Denny played many McCartney songs like Blackbird, but he didn't even mention McCartney's name, or Wings or the Moody Blues for that matter. His young 3 piece backing band acted like wide boys/ chancers, only in it for the money not music. We all left the pub very very disappointed with what we had experienced.
Mind Games has some great tracks but Ausimason is abysmal. Far weaker than pauls Red Rose Speedway and Band on the Run, both recorded in the same year. Lets face it John couldnt compete with Pauls prolific genius, RRS would have been a great double album, and McCartney also had non album Live and Let Die and zoo gang in the same year, 73.
