YES< if you find one, go for it, they are really a great little ship and yes, i sail her everywhere: easy to get in and out of the marina, however, if it's too windy it can be a bit too exciting
Hello Charlie! where did you exhaust yours...and did you put your tank underneath the galley somehow? I want to do mine right and am talking to people who have done one as i want it to look good...kinda not like I had done it!! lol As i said in one video: even when we try really hard, and are careful...it still turns out...as a first try...!! and may need to be re-done!
Hi very jealous of your boat. I've been trying to get my hands on Flicka for for two years now. I have a nice boat but want something smaller and easier to deal without sacrificing seaworthiness. Those are such great little boats. I'm sure I'll enjoy your videos. Happy to be a new subscriber.😊👍
Hey Jimmy: thank you for subscribing! Yes, sometimes I can't believe I found such a great little Flicka: even when I found her, the seller had just taken her off the market & was going to wait until spring (I bought her in October 2020) but I convinced him I just had to buy this little ship! & the manoeuvring even in windy weather (yep, at the marina with the outboard & trying to steer in reverse while moving to the big slip!) that should have been a video in itself....didn't touch another boat, but had heart failure as I tried a few 9 point turns, hah! I have mostly cosmetic, touch up things to do & thank you for watching my videos!!
@@Westsail32Tiamat I'm happy for you that you found one. People just don't part with them easily. I'm not giving up though. Fell in love with them 20 years ago. Anyway good luck to you that looks like a real sweet little boat.
@@jimmydoger1583 Thank you so much, I am thrilled I found her and that she is in such good shape! I get to do all the fun things while planning for big adventures! Good luck on your search: I do see a few for sale now on Yachtworld...! ;-)
I have never seen any sensible sailing vessel with a smooth cook top, or without fiddle rails to hold pots. There once was a very good kerosene 2 burner stove called the Princess. Which of course will also burn diesel. Safe, simple, right size and form factor, and an actual marine stove. Uses the once common Primus type burners. Assuming you dont want propane. Even at home, we do 99% of our cooking on a single burner.
Hello Capt Larry! Yes, this has fiddle that fit in the trim areas of the top, they fit in and then hold what will be one pot! ;-) Agree on only needing one burner: the additional reason too is the blower lid, turns it into a nice dry-heat heater, with an exhaust both for the stove heat and the heater when on....vs. having to try to fit another item into our compact ships!
Hello! Thank you! & my Wallas stove style isn't gimballed as part of it is the heater lid...and the exhaust hose/vent & the gravity feed tank...hmm, I think I taught myself something, lol! I have to put the heater lid on still, and figure out where to put the control unit, etc!! Another video to come soon, lol!!
Hello! Yes, the exhaust is just a hole through the cabin side, or stern, the little kit for it is really easy, actually, drilling the hole will be the hardest, seriously i have not drilled the hole yet!! Check Trotac Marine (the BC Dealer) to see the small exhaust item to use, they are very helpful too!
