@CDP my my the Cleric shit and then Colin following up with waxing on music aesthetics - such a treasure. You've made my year, thanks so much gentlemen.
This was a great interview. He really seems to have found his place in life, and sounds genuinely excited and passionate about creating music after all these years. Love how he's constantly creating in all kinds of different ways. Will we ever see the Colored Sands tab book? ;)
Just letting you know (you were wondering, I know) that I listened to the whole thing. Very informative! It's really unfair that I can't come up with a single bass riff and here's a guy who's in 538 bands and mixes 97 albums a day. I wish I could meet Colin someday, even just to take a selfie together. I was going to see Gorguts shortly after Colored Sands got released, but that show got cancelled at the last minute. I'm still mad.
Colin's the man. Just listen to the "drums and bass only" version of Colored Sands and it's a completely different album. Colin - can you make playthroughs of stuff from Obscura and FWTH? I was always wondering how to play the part in Obscura (the song) that starts at 2:31.
Love this talk, just wish Colin wasn’t cut off whenever he tried to finish a point. Maybe it’s just the result of stream delay, but people would always chime in before letting him finish a point. I think he sarcastically made a joke about it around the halfway mark.
