Caren, you've done it again! From those beautiful studio publicity photographs to the video's background music, I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation. I've always loved Rita Hayworth, and Gene Kelly is the dance partner of my dreams, although I'd never be able to keep up with him. Gene Kelly was doing "Air Jordan" hang-time moves long before Michael Jordan, suspending himself in the air and landing as gracefully as a ballet dancer. Thank you for another wonderful trip down Hollywood's Memory Lane. You Rock!
Thank you so much for such a nice comment! I don’t think there are many people who could’ve kept up with Gene Kelly! He really was ahead of his time! Thanks so much for watching!
i think my favorite images of Rita as a dancer is her in that wonderful golden gown, flying/ floating down that amazing ramp, and doing those spectacular spins and combinations with the male chorus at the bottom💖...... i do believe that whole sequence was choreographed by Jack Cole🌹
Hi Caren. Ever thought of doing a video on the various books about Hayworth? I’d love to hear what you think of them. Kobal, Leaming, McLean, Epstein and Morella, Hill….any favorites?
That’s a great idea! It’s been so long since I’ve read them, though, that I might have to go back and reread them! My personal favorite is the one by Kobal because he spoke with so many primary sources, so many people who actually knew and worked with Rita. Thanks so much for watching and supporting my videos and for the great suggestion!
@@CRF-ds7ie Love the Kpbal book as well! Loved his talk with Rita at the end.......she made it clear that she thought of herself as an actress, not a sex symbol
in one of my editions of the book "Gotta Sing Gotta Dance" by John Kobal, Cole says Columbia was looking for a new choreographer with fresh ideas for the film, and that Gene Kelly recommended him.....from the way its staged i do believe that's his number
