Great to see that this place has been cleaned up some and the pool cleaned etc…Last few times I’ve seen footage of it there was junk all around and the pool was green with algae. Looks like someone is taking good care of it for a change. Sure wish we could see the inside! Thanks for showing this!
I went on Google Maps to check as well, and I think the house you see is the carriage house. I’m not 100% sure, but there is definitely a carriage house down from the main house. I can’t remember the exact details, but that’s what I think we are seeing on Google street view. Thank you so much for watching!
How sad that his family was not allowed to somehow remove the family crest (and perhaps the rose bush?) and relocate them. He was born in Deerfield, MI where my father was born and the family knew them. And my mom was born in Dundee, Mi where her family was good friends with Danny's aunt and Uncle and all their children. I remember going to visit them as a kid after they moved to VT. I was SURE that his cousin was kidding me--and that HE really was Danny Thomas! lol
That’s great that your family knew some of the Thomas family! I think they had a chance to take the family crest and didn’t. I’m not sure why, but I know the grandson had been there to visit before they demolished it and I’m sure he could have taken it or made an offer. But that’s just a guess. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you so much for your nice comment. Unfortunately, if you look at episode 44, you will see that the house has been demolished. Just heartbreaking. Please note that, in the episode 44 video, I indicate that a new house was built on the property, but I was wrong. That’s just a rendering. My bad! As far as I know, nothing has yet been built on the property. Thanks again for watching!
I watch that movie every holiday season. Movies back then had style, class, talent, good music, great acting, a strong plot line, some suspense, and a satisfying ending. Today movies are just trash----representative of the sewer that's Hollywood.
Thank you so much for doing this for us ❤I would love to see this in person but you made it beautifully and gifted us a Great Christmas 🎄 gift we can re-watch💝❣️💖💗💜 God bless you for your kindness and love of our treasured old movies ❤😇💞🏆
oh wow this randomly popped up onto my feed, i have had your photo book of rita for years and it is truly my absolute favorite. can only imagine the amount of work that went behind it, thank you! ❤
Does anyone know who designed the costumes? Columbia was very bad at giving costume designers screen credit. I have two guesses: Irene( most likely) or Kalloch.
White Christmas is my favorite movie. I also think that Edith Head was the best designer. Another of Edith’s designs that is my favorite is the black and white dress that you see Grace Kelly wear in Rear Window. Thank you for the video.
Stop calling genius Gene Kelly a "taskmaster." He was a consummate professional and Rita adored him and loved working with him and Phil Silvers, too. He also was her only leading man who was her match in looks and it's too bad that MGM would never loan him out again.
I do agree that Gene Kelly was a genius, and I would have loved to have seen them work together again! But he was a taskmaster! That’s not an insult, necessarily, in my book, so I’m sorry if I offended you. Thanks so much for watching my video!
Omg my favorite movie I watch every Christmas. I have some information on that incredible black dress Rosemary Clooney wore in that Love Didn’t Do Right By Me number. I had the privilege of talking to Debby Boone after a concert (She’s married to one of Rosemary’s sons) and I asked her where is the black dress from the movie? She said there was another daughter in law that got it but she is no longer part of their family so no one knows where it is now.
Fred Astair was far too much of a class act to have ever have said out loud or even write about who his favorite dance partner was. I just cant see this fine gentleman ever being so unkind as to insult others for no reason. However, as much as I like Gene Kelly, I can see him doing that. I could see Gene Kelly saying who his favorite dance partner was out loud.
I’d love to see these. It was only a couple years ago I saw White Christmas on the big screen. I had never been able to see the detail before. So of course I googled and saw everything was by Edith Head which of course explains everything ♥️ Fantom events is offering it again this winter and I’ll be there again ♥️
This is such a delight to see. Thank you! The black dress that Rosemary wore has always been my favorite dress in any movie I’ve ever seen. It’s stunning. Wonder where it is?
Oh my goodness! My top all time favorite Christmas movie. I can't go a Christmas season without it. The outfits are even more exquisite up close. Thank you so much for filming this and I quite agree that Vera-Ellen had the snazziest outfits. ♥
AMAZING! I need to make a pilgrimage to see these costumes. I didn't know there was a Rosemary Clooney house, let alone the costumes from my all-time favorite holiday film. Thank you for this video!
