Kara saying "It's supposed to be hard. It's not supposed to be easy." Spot on. I don't know if you all are fans of The Wire. But great moment when the young kid Dukie is climbing over the fence and gets snagged on barbed wire at the top and says, "Dag, it's stickin'!" and the old junk man who sent him up there says, "Course it sticks. It's barbed wire. Stickin' what it's 'sposed to do!" That's a life lesson.
You two are the absolute BEST. Would love to hear thoughts on this - swimming and running (in my opinion, as someone who spectates both worlds) are similar in terms of visibility, TV air time, etc, etc... This year, the vibes of the swimming trials are UNHINGED. They've had attendance of ~20k and its pretty incredible. How can we do the same with track trials? What needs to happen to light the fire?
