I agree, Kudos to Billy, your podcasts are first class. Paper piecing is not my fav but the results are close to perfect. I always feel paper piecing is a “brain twister”. After I “adjust” my brain, I find it easier to do. Love your Saturday seven and all of your small project videos - thank you!

Just wondering if you would consider working with FQS to have “A Quilting Life” binder available to purchase that we could store the BOM’s in. It would be nice to have something cute for those as opposed to the plain black binders we buy at Staples 🤞🤞 Looking forward to the next RU-vid ..cake or no cake lol

I love every episode but, since having listed to this almost a week ago I haven't been able to shake a viewers question on how to nourish creativity. I find I also struggle with this at times but, here are a a few things that I find to work for me. First and foremost, have grace for yourself!! (I owe this frequent reminder to Sherri and Chelsi. Thank you ladies!) We are all humans and we are not able to constantly producing great work at any given moment. From there I allow myself to get lost in things I truly love and enjoy. I read a book that is new or one I also feel "lifted" from (my favorite quick read/ little reminders in a pinch is, "Things Are What You Make of Them: Life Advice for Creatives" by Adam J. Kurtz), I call a dear friend, or I go for a walk. These seem simple and easier said than done but, who knows this little moments to break away from forced creativity may bring inspiration that would not have been found otherwise.

I look forward to your videos and blog. The content is helpful. The three of you are a great team. I didn’t like foundation paper piecing until I did an entire large quilt in stars and a huge twisted log cabin. It’s easy now and I don’t waste much fabric because I’ve learned how to cut the pieces needed. It is an acquired taste with fantastic results!😂. If you do enough FPP, it will become easy.

For me, if I take a walk or hike it helps to clear and refresh my brain. If I can get to the beach or the mountains that is even better. Sitting in my back yard with bare feet reading a book is also great. Daily exercise is a bonus to help me think and feel creative.

Chelsea you absolutely should try foundation paper piecing. Fat Quarter Shop has several different blocks available in 6" and 12" sizes. A table runner would be an easy first project. On book organizing, I organize by topic, scrappy, pre cut friendly, applique etc. Have you ever designed a Christmas fabric line, or will you in the future? Does Billy have any interest in learning to quilt? There are some great men quilters out there. Maybe a very beginner friendly how to series featuring Billy learning to quilt! 😄

I find I’m most creative when I have multiple projects going. Maybe like your bathroom painting-that’s when all the creative ideas were flowing. Of course, if too many things are happening that causes stress which definitely is not conducive to creativity.

Are you familiar with "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron? It's essentially a primer on expanding creativity with specific exercises to help spur creative ideas. I've been part of groups that have done it together and I've done it on my own--it really works if you do the exercises faithfully. Exercises include journalling/morning pages, learning how to play, etc. .

I've tried the 'sorting fabric by color' for my scraps, but I'm always frustrated by multi-colored prints. There are lots of videos with people sorting scraps but I always see them sort the easier ones. How do you handle prints that are really multi-colored? How do they fit in your sorting system and how do you use them in scrap quilts?

My mind has been really at peace since I decided to start sorting by sizes (ex. 5"x5" or 2.5"' strips) from there they are sorted by color somewhat. It feels much more approachable to my eye to start with size and color falls into place for my organizing.
