In this episode, Don and Terry discuss various topics related to food plotting and land management. They start by talking about the wrap-up of consulting season and the importance of being a good neighbor. They then discuss the feedback they received about new switchgrass varieties and the benefits of crop rotations. Don shares his three-year rotation plan of deadly dozen, soybeans, and corn. They also address the question of whether it's okay to have lots of bucks in the spring and summer. Managing a property for deer hunting requires creating the best habitat with quality bedding cover, diverse food sources, and minimal human intrusion. Following a well-thought-out plan leads to successful outcomes, while deviating from the plan can cause confusion and problems. Hard work and dedication are important in managing a property, but sometimes less is more, and overdoing it can have negative consequences. The use of AI in deer hunting may bring advancements in technology and equipment, but it is uncertain how much further it can go. Planting potted trees in the fall is recommended over bare root trees in the spring, as they have a better chance of survival and growth. In floodplain areas, persimmons and swamp white oaks are good options for attracting deer. The support and encouragement from the hunting community are greatly appreciated in difficult times.

Great one !!! It’s all about a man’s morals how he hunts deer. I’m just thankful that all the hunters don’t yet just want to fill there tags. I’m thankful there are still men that care about hunting mature deer and the health of the herd. Thanks God Bless.

I personally wouldn’t suggest it because the beans will be competing with the DD.
