I sure do miss my tomatoes. I picked the last of the little cherry tomatoes a couple of days ago and put them in a salad. Can't wait till next year ! We went to Lawrenceburg , TN ( we live in AL real close to the TN state line) and bought plants from the amish this year and we had loads of them! They always have good plants.
Hi lovely ladies. I could watch you and your canning techniques for hours. I'm a tomato crazy girl. One of my favorite dishes was tomatoes baked with lima or butter beans with baloney baked on top. That was mom's time to grocery shop meal. What would we do without tomatoes. Funny to think in history they wouldn't eat them because they thought they were poisoned, fools. I'm a tomatoes fiend. I love toasted tomatoes sandwiches with sugar sprinkled on it, or ice cold canned tomatoes with the juice with sugar on it served with toast to dunk in it. I love baked spaghetti with can tomatoes smothered with cheese

Just a note to all of our fans and followers, it has been brought to our attention that oven canning can be unsafe if food does not hit the correct temperature. Although Memaw Dixie has been doing this for years and years, always do your research on new methods, just in case.
I made a mistake on cooking time after I went back and looked at my recipe it cook on 250 for 1 and half hours in oven and let cool completely before I remote from oven. Then turn upside down for 3 days before putting in pantery. Sorry for the mistake memaw dixie
