Love you Alain ! Excited for more content now that training camp has started ! Becoming a fan of perk as well. Alain is the 🐐dethroned omar who was my #1 for years
Tua will be signed soon. I’m not worried bout it. We know the offense great. But I feel the defense will be better than last year. Can’t wait. Fins up!
Stay strong to the point that he will eventually do a bad decision (AGAIN) by trading Tua (Just like Tannekill) where he left and did well off with the Titans. How happy will you be then if that happens? Who will get to replace Tua? Draft another QB in the next draft and hope and pray that he is the next Dan Marino? How many more years of this non-sense can continue? Just remember this, if Tua sits and does not play, this offense will be pure trash in 2024-2025.
@@carlossaenz7485I’d take my chances w backups seeing as a 7th round rookie 3rd stringer put up 30 in a playoff game @Buffalo. How’s tua’s game late season?
Stay strong Grier, let’s go for another 25 years without a playoff win. I guess BRAINS isn’t a requirement for being a GM for the Miami Dolphins. Just like Mike TannenBUM.
@@joec8942 He threw over 4900+ yards. Was an MVP candidate until his team fell apart with injuries and could not do crap during the playoffs. It is a team sport after all. Don't even think for a moment that Skylar could have done that.
Great show Poup. This might sound silly, but I don't believe there are 10 top 10 QBs in the NFL currently. There are 7 or 8 tops. And a couple of them are a bit long in the tooth. We can slot Tua anywhere between 9 and 15, but only 5 or 6 would be a significant upgrade over the next few years
I’m a Tua fan! Before the draft! Is he a top7-12 qb? Yes. I’m a Phins fan first! I think the organization is doing the right thing! I’m hoping something good happens for both parties! But the team needs to spend wisely!
I agree Some teams are going to give Tua the 55+ million and the dolphins a first and third round pick❓️ Maybe 🤷♂️ But I don't think he will have the biggest market
If you think Tua is only a top 10 to 15 QB that’s ok but we have been looking for QB for 25+ years as he is hands down the best QB we have found. We that said we have a good maybe great team built now if we don’t pay him we might be looking for another 25+ years. For the extra say 5-10 million a year you might think we are over paying I think is worth the gamble and he might turn out to be a top 5 we have seen flashes of that as well as 20-25 QB. Roll the dice and pay him with a third year out in his contract.
If they aren’t going to pay Tua, F the whole thing, and let’s sh1!t can the season. Trade everybody off and tank now so we can get another QB we won’t pay next year. We are Dolphins fans. We ate used to losing year after year…
He was 7 months of a hip dislocation career ending injury...if it takes 18 months to come of an ACL properly...what is it for a hip operation? You can tell when a fan talks.
@nrbnrb5147 then answer the question. The problem is people like you that have never played, are emotional and live in fantasy world. How long was the question? Do you know the answer. I know what happened.
@@TuatagaloaTeo - So you are hanging the mediocre first two years on his hip injury? If you put Tua in Buffalo and Allen in Miami. Who do you think would adapt better? You are blind if you can't see how much Tua benefits from having Hill and McDaniel's offense. I mean, we have seen him without them, right?....
You are incorrect that Tua is "forced" to play out his 5th year option. He is free to hold out. I'm guessing that Mike White starting and losing against Jacksonville will get that contract done! It worked for Chris Jones in KC last year.
OK, you got me. Technically, he isn’t “forced” to play on the fifth-year option, but it’s not like he realistically is going to forfeit $23M by not playing.
@@alldolphinspodcast He doesn't need to sit out the whole season. Realistically if he sits out 1 game they will sign him to a new deal. If he sits out 4 games the season is basically over, the SB window is one year closer to closing, and the Dolphins know it. It makes no sense to pay all these other players and have your QB sitting out. Also in 1-2 years, $55M is going to look dirt cheap. The cap is only going up. Dak will probably sign at $65M+.
@@alldolphinspodcast My point is simply that is not all or nothing for him; his choices are not sit out the whole season or play the whole season. He can hold out for a few weeks and then report. And I would be shocked if any holdout lasted beyond week 1; a Mike White debacle against the Jags would make it pretty clear to the Dolphins that their choices are to give him a market value contract or write off the whole season and wait until next year. So it would not cost him $23M; he would only lose the game checks for the games he misses (almost certainly, just one game check). This is exactly what happened in KC last year with Chris Jones. He gave up one game check in exchange for the contract he wanted. No one ever really thought he was going to hold out for the whole season. What are Miami's other options? Mike White to start for the whole season? Bring Tannehill back? (he's still a FA right?) No one wants to see either of those things (except Miami's opponents)
@@alldolphinspodcast I'm glad to see that the Dolphins saw it the same way I did. Now this distraction is over and we can get on to winning this super bowl that I've been waiting for for 40 years (I started watching football in 1984 when I was 8 years old). I believe that Tua can deliver it, and from the reporting I've heard, Tua doing a full practice caused an overnight change from the defense dominating the offense for 2 days straight to the offense lighting it up. I'm looking forward to traveling to South Florida for a parade! Enjoy your vacation in Iceland. I've only been through the airport there; never actually seen the country. It's definitely on my list of places to go.
I love Perk💙, but I disagree Nothing against Tua, but I think the Dolphins should use the Transition tag at 35+ million, and i have been saying it for months.🗓 Some team is going to give Tua the 55+ million× 6 years AND the Dolphins a first + third round pick❓️❓️❓️ Maybe 🤷♂️ But I don't think Tua will have the biggest market , i.e. Lamar Jackson Furthermore, we could match any offer if we need to. If Tua wants to take a number similar to Baker Mayfield, then so be it, but the Dolphins cap situation is not great, so we need to frugal any chance we can.
Percent imo you were so close it’s not Tua but the team that will be waisting time not giving him the contract. That’s the angle you have to look at it and if they don’t Tua gets all the leverage when they have terrible practices.
I love Poup and have been reading his stuff since the Dolphin Digest days... but when I hear his say we don't know what we have on Mike White, I legit cringe.
@@alldolphinspodcast I saw his inconsistencies when he was playing with the Jests, and I've seen them in practice, and I've seen them on the field... even if they're only six in garbage time. Saying "We don't know what we have in Mike White" is like saying "Coach McDaniel doesn't know how to evaluate talent." since he sees how White plays daily and he doesn't even ATTEMPT to make things more competitive for Tua. One of the knocks for Tua is that he's inconsistent, and you want to what.... replace him with an even MORE inconsistent QB.... right....
@@alldolphinspodcastI don’t want any 1 player to carry the team. I want him to be a good QB and he is doing that. QBs that carry a team don’t win championships. Great teams win championships.
@luism8130 check out today's extensive rundown on the Purdy contract on ESPN... Purdy looks better but like Tua has deeply skilled players and they have a better offensive line and defense...they are talking a 65m contract 🙈
@@SteveYZ1I agree 65 sounds like a ridiculous number but at the same time the cap continues to go up and these contracts are fake non guaranteed for the most part. I do find it weird that they aren’t giving Tua the contract knowing they can easily get out of it, so I am assuming he is looking for a lot of guaranteed money.
I strongly disagree with your evaluation of Tua . He is by miles the best Qb at the Dolphins since Dan Marino if you want to spend more time in the Wilderness . Then let Tua go on the Market .The Market is what the Market is,Pay Him.
I've stayed close to all things dolphins for 45 years , and AP is the only one I'll pay any attention to! I usually have the info ahead of most of the other guys on here anyway. I love Tua and was glad we drafted him, BUT, I would not "marry" long term, any QB unless he was a consistent top 5 QB in this league! However, creative contracts can limit the losses taken, if indeed things don't go as planned. I hope that they do, but we should ALWAYS be thinking ahead about the QB position!
Until proven otherwise…as a fan of 30 years… I feel like they’re gonna sign him long term, then he’s gonna regress or continue to me mid and we’re gonna be stuck for 3 more years. It’s just what happens to this franchise. The desire to sign him is influenced by the franchises long history of crap QB play.
So much for Poup's man crush old man Fangio ...Weaver gonna be better...Fangio knew he was gone at end of year probably never wanted to be here i.e. money grab
