In the episode I discuss my most worn knits this past year and my thoughts for 2024 projects.
I'm wearing the Valine: An Essential Pullover by Mary Annarella you can find this pattern on Ravelry at www.ravelry.com...
On the mannequin is the Fossveien by Inga Semmingson and I'm knitting it using Cascade 220 Sport weight non super wash yarn.
I use Lang Jawoll reinforcement bobbins for the heels and toes of socks.
My most worn sweaters this year are as follows:
Sweater No. 9 by My Favorite Things
The Avaris by Lena Zharichenko
The Wool and Honey by Andrea Mowry
The Valine by Mary Annarella

Lovely episode, as usual! ❤4H!!! I learned to knit as a member of The Happy Helpers 4H group in a small Michigan town . I am forever thankful for the ladies that taught us to knit, crochet, sew, embroider, and bake…they were up for anything that we could do with our hands. It was wonderful and I use the skills they taught us daily. What a wonderful organization - my great nieces and nephews are still involved showing steers and dairy feeders! Love getting back for the fair when I can. ❤

Hi Diane what a fabulous podcast.You are such a joy to watch and an inspiration .I love your enthusiasm for all things positive.I agree with you about gratitude and kindness the world is very much in need of more of this .I truly appreciate everyone and everything I have as I see a lot of sadness in my job as a Nurse.I do see a lot of stoicism and I am amazed at how people cope in the most difficult of situations.My knitting is my mindfulness and i am very grateful for that.Keep being you and happy knitting 🧶🌺

I did some 4H but we moved several times, so I only got to show once (horses and rabbits). It was a good experience. I was inspired by your Fossveien to make my own, and it is my favorite sweater right now.

I love the footage of your walk. I enjoy many kinds of weather- but a grey moody breezy day is fun walking weather for me! Nantucket has so many of those paths- ones you drive by again and again and finally get out and see where the path goes. Sounds like you had a really restful and magical holiday season. It just sounds lovely. ❤

Good morning and Happy 2024. Yes, moody is the right word. It’s amazing how a walk can alter our moods. We do love Nantucket, we haven’t been in quite awhile. It’s always a challenge getting off our island and then to another. When we lived in MA we could be more spontaneous. I do believe the last time we went was to stay with friends and enjoy the Christmas Stroll. Wonderful memories. Take care and happy knitting 🧶❤️

Oh my gosh Diane, you are such a pleasure to watch. You are a sweet soul. I love how you see the best in everything. I am a 30+ year crocheter who is only a few months into my knitting adventure. You inspire me so much. My husband and I made a New Year’s resolution to look for the best in people, to be kind always, and to be grateful for everything that we have. I truly believe that finding happiness is the key to that. I will definitely be picking up the book. ❤

Lovely video! One book I was surprised and delighted by this year is Plainsong by Kent Haruf. It is not new, so perhaps you have read it, but if not I think you would enjoy it. Your Fossveien is gorgeous! I have had that one on my radar for a while, but it hasn’t yet bubbled up to the top of my queue. We all know how that goes!

Hi Diane, I recommend the book Absolution by Alice McDermott. Also has a present time line in the US and a time line in the early Sixties in Vietnam.
