I wanted to take a minute to comment and say that this is a really interesting educational experimental series. I like how you take the time to explain what's happening in terms that can be quantified, rather than just slap stuff together "because it's cool". I'm a Diesel Technician by trade and find content like this interesting.

Great vid. You know, stock they had a 112mph top speed which i personally verified several times. It's interesting to think you've made the engine 1/5th the size but have only cut the top speed by a little more than half. :P

I drove my car with RE 92 tires for two years with 100 PSI tires and sometimes 130.It will make up a huge difference on your speed. And hey take the two mirrors off the doors.

I love the project, But the fact that you can take off in 3rd gear means you have the car geared way too high. a gearing change should easily get you the 50mph you are looking for while keeping the RPM in a range that it won't have issues.

I get it that you are trying to get the most out of the engine but I think that if you would do some extras with the aerodynamics for the car you could squeeze out more mph. If you see how those guys get 80 mph our of .5 hp in their human power vehicles it is all (mostly) aero tuning. With that in mind I would close off the whole front end except for a small duct with a hose/tubing/ducting running to the engine to cool it and maybe a piece of ducting from the engine to draw the air away from it to under the car like aircraft do. Also close off the underside of that engine area it looks very dirty aero wise too, in a sense you have a small parachute in the front of this car and once you get above 25 mph that becomes the most important thing. Air resistance is squared for each mph that you gain. A few pieces of that corrugated plastic could do the trick, I get mine from old election signs for free. One engine thing I did question was why you have kept the plastic fan that is on the flywheel. I know it is just a small bit of parasitic drag but I would think that you would want to eliminate every little bit of that. What a great fun project you have going here best of luck !

212cc is just under 13 cubic inches. You could fit 23 of these engines' combustion chambers into an old Ford 302 (5.0 liter)

I wonder how much the tires (dimensions, inflation, compound) influence the performance of this thing. I also see the steering is crooked: could the geometry be totally out of whack? That may cost 1 or 2 mph as well

Directions unclear...I inserted smallest carburetor jet and my wife says I still have too much gas.

You should put on the slow vehicle triangle on the back of the Insight

Mikuni carburetor would have made a huge difference i think, can only force so mych air thru the stock carb

add a battery pack to it like , the car wheego you have to google it theirs room under the hood for 212 cc engine and it has a five speed trans with 3 phase electric motor . love to see if you could do it

Put thinner tires and inflate them to 60 PSI or so. Hell, get 4 donut spares, that'll be cheap from any junkyard. For whatever good it'll do, you can port the head, shave it, and portmatch the intake/exhaust. You might get 0.3 hp out of that. *edit - maybe put a lighter viscosity oil in the trans, or use a trans from something even smaller... or just use a straight up CVT like out of a Matiz (not in North America though) or some old Subaru. or a 5 shot of NOS lol, out of one of those tiny food grade NOS mixers.

I hope you are enjoying the nozzle on that gas can. It's a present from California to the rest of the country. By recycling the vapor from what you are filling back into the can, it saves the environment. Nevermind that half a cup you spill each time that offsets the vapor recovery by 10000000000000000000000000000%

Great project, Would taller tires increase the top end a little? I have some good ideas in the treasure chest as well like electric car that never need plugged in, but If plugged in it runs the electric to the house😳🤓

Could you go for even more offset and an even bigger jet just by running higher octane gas in it to reduce detonation?

If the car has a manual transmission how come it just doesn't take off when you put it in reverse or in first gear? Also how did you hook up the predator to the input shaft of the transmission, there's no torque converter right?
