Us too! We plan on doing some under hood work on this car soon. Since it wasn't part of the meat of the episode we felt that it would be a distraction...like it is for Vinnie and Jeff every time it is open...
The ear muffs are clip in. On the back of the panel is a cardboard piece that is attached to the panel. A clip is inserted into the tab and then into a corresponding hole on the metal panel. These can be really tough to get in right. We are planning another video on Camaro headliner install in the future.
Hi Jeff, Thank you for yor answer. I actually stumbled across a new kit for half the retail price, so I bought it. Seems like it will fit even with a roll bar. Dry fitted the kit and noticed that the housing would end up inside the door panel... Went back and tried to look at how you mounted the belts. Gaaah! After about half the episode there is a playback error...
That's odd. Do you have a time stamp for the playback error? The belt bucket needs to face the interior the back side (flat area of the plastic housing that holds the seat belt faces the door. The bracket can be bent in a little to facilitate fit. Dude, send Jeff some digital pics to: jford@autorestomod.com o he can get a better idea of the issue.
I installed the belts tonight and the rollbar wasn’t an issue. Well, except for accessing the rear mounting point for the belts. Did some acrobatics and managed to get myself into the rear seat area just to realize that rolling down the quarter windows would have done the trick. Duh...
Dude, It's hard to say without seeing the roll bar location. If the roll bar bolts to the forward belt location (Mounting tabs on the front of the bar at the roof line) at the rear quarter window then you can possibly mount the belts there. If you want you can send pics of the roll bar position and we will attempt to help. jford@autorestomod.com
Dennis Davis true I saw a commercial on RU-vid where a young man is getting in a Camaro and buckles himself in securely, but the seatbelt is a lap belt. Nothing wrong with having a seatbelt buckled very securely across your lap, but it's good to have shoulder belts too.
@@acaza1234Back in the day, very few people buckled up their lap belt, much less the shoulder belt. The people that did use just the lap belt though they were really being safety conscious, little did they know.
