Recorded at the August 2022 Fest for Beatles Fans in Chicago, TMT's Kit O'Toole moderated an all-star panel for a live "Wrack Our Brains." Authors Chuck Gunderson, Piers Hemmingsen, Al Sussman, and Ken Womack answer questions from the TMT co-hosts, viewers, audience members, and each other in a lively discussion. Join the fun (and pardon the sound, as we were right next to the Apple Jam stage)! Special thanks to 2Legs' Andy Nicholes who recorded the session.
NOTE: The location we were assigned during the Fest was less than ideal--we were right next to the Apple Jam stage and had only one microphone and speaker. Therefore the sound quality is not the best (it does get better after the first 10 minutes, however). Thank you for your patience!
Regular live episodes will return Sept. 19! To all who celebrate, Happy Labor Day!

21:18 - The Sgt Pepper remix box set is completely phenomenal. You talk about elaborate. It was released close to my birthday and what a self-birthday-gift, too. Wonderful.

Thanks Kit, Ken, Chuck, Piers & Al. You all have heard of Mr. Microphone...j/k I miss Ronco commercials songs between 1960-66 I wish I heard played live I'm gonna sit right down and cry over you - Ringo is incredible Red Hot - George & John trading vocals

47:50 - Aw, Kit, I LOVED the organ. That touch made it the funniest song on the album, not to mention in their whole career together. It's even funnier than You Know My Name (Look Up the Number). When they didn't mean to be.....then again, maybe they knew the humor of it, maybe the organ solo in Mr Moonlight was a giant WINK!

12:15 - I would have loved if if the Beatles played "Some Other Guy" on tour.

They had considered disbanding after the tour era was over, after Revolver was released. I can't help but think that would have been very sad because a lot of bands started off around the same time they did, and to have them possibly get back to life as it was before they were Beatles and occasionally reminisce similarly to members of the Animals or the Zombies would have just been sad. Maybe they might've gotten together for a laugh and done a few songs. I very much doubt they would have made such great solo albums if they started recording solo after 1966. It was sad enough when they broke up in 1970, but they were a powerhouse band by that time. They were great as far as 1966, but they needed the last 4 years of their career.

I really wish The Beatles would have performed It Won’t Be Long in concert.

I remember the good old days when the solo Beatle videos used to be shown in the main ballroom. Beatlefest hasn't been the same since it became corporatized. It's like a plastic shell of itself.

Aside from reissuing the Butcher Cover, I really didn't like the latter-day US Albums, so I didn't bother picking that one up. I mean, we already had the songs in that particular master (09). I much prefer the two box sets of the Capitol albums in 2004 and 2005. They really had the look and the sound of that era. Fantasitc.
