This has been one of the best episodes of Talk More Talk yet. Walls & Bridges has been my fav John album since the first listen when I was 15. It was an amazing period for John in so many ways.

Ringo just said in an update that the country ep now will have 10 tracks and gonna be „a real cd“ like he says, so in my words I think he means it‘s gonna be an album!

Very interesting, some thoughts, John was negative about Get Back Let it be sessions, similar to his reflections around the lost weekend ? But at some point in the 1980 interviews he mentioned listening to the last album before he made Double Fantasy, he says it wasn’t as bad as he thought. I agree the Double Fantasy interviews are frustrating. I think his negativity towards himself runs throughout his life, he dismisses alot of excellent stuff ? He had a very fragile ego, which probably started with rejection ? I often wonder if he agreed to DF being a shared album in case it flopped ? He could hide behind Yoko ? Walls and Bridges is my favourite solo album ! Great show

I like Kit O'Toole's "Mind Games" field and sky. I pretty much agree with everything you all said, and you all had a great, informative conversation. I like "Bless You" a lot, which I think is a great ballad. Although it sounds very mellow + pretty, there seems to be a lot of emotion behind it. I believe that "New York City," "Intuition" and "What You've Got" should have been single A-sides. The newspaper cover idea had already been done by Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick" album in March, '72, so the edginess of "Some Time in NYC" was kind of stale.

Tom is referring to the theme tune to the UK 80s show 'Surprise, Surprise' hosted by Cilla Black 😂

Great discussion. John did some great work after hooking up with Yoko. But after plastic ono band it took a steady decline.

If John had lived, he probably would have eventually seen "the lost weekend" from a more positive perspective as the '80s went on into the 90s.

Great episode. I reckon Lennon's albums dropped in consistent quality starting with Sometime I n y c and not ending until the sublime Double Fantasy. All the albums containing gems but not consistent unlike most Wings albums

I love Luck of the Irish, Out the Blue, Mind Games, What you got and Nobody Loves You when you're down and out, in particular from those albums.

The new movie Argylle has Now And Then in it, Giles Martin somehow is involved in the movie and he suggested the song a year ago to the director for a love scene and he thought it fits perfectly! I just found out there is a soundtrack album online with an orchestral version of the song, very interesting..could have been on Pauls classical albums. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4l1VsjzqiD8.htmlsi=MudQmxDKCZh6AgL1

To be honest I’ve never rated of Harry nielsens self written songs. Great as Harry was singing Without You and Everybody’s Talking. His co written song with John Old Dirt Road is abysmal
