#ilovervlife #EpochLifePO4 #lithiumBattery During the November evaluation, I shared that we would not be traveling for most of the colder months and I planned to leave both the solar charger and 75 amp converter/charger connected to maintain the battery. Epoch stated the 300ah V2 battery had low temperature disconnect and it was heated for temperatures below 32 degrees. Without these features, any charging that may have occurred during temperatures below 32F would have damaged, or worse, destroyed the battery. For a number of weeks in January and early February, we experienced extended periods with temperatures in the teens and 20s. See the results of our testing to see if the Epoch 300ah V2 LifePO4 Battery survived the cold.
Out thanks to Epoch for supplying iLoveRVlife with the Epoch 300ah V2 LifePO4 Battery for our testing. We have provided helpful links below if you’re interested in learning more about the Epoch LifePO4 product line.

Jerry- Nice work on this. I know Epoch is pretty new so a realistic "real-life" test like this is useful. Thanks for all of your insight and work to provide this type of info.

Great information. About the humidity in Refrigerator. If you can get to the evaporator drain line clean it. Use a vacuum to suck out dirt. Look for kinks in line.

WOW, hydraulic slides draw massive current and that battery did it without shutting off the logic/command system. Impressive - I got my eye on that puppy :-)

Our summer travels are entering the 3rd month. The battery is performing well. No issues with the slides or the res fridge running on the inverter on these hot travel days.

Ordered and received the battery a couple of weeks ago. Installed on 5/24 and it worked flawlessly. I was plugged in most of the time so we didn’t test much of the capacity but it’s there if I need it. Next up to install is a solar disconnect, victron solar charge controller which will replace the furrion, then a new converter charger with lithium charge profile. Thanks again. My current set up has a 370w solar panel (furrion) and I was seeing 19+ charging amps in full on Florida sun with no DC loads. Pretty impressive.

Great video on the Epoch batteries that I am interested in however I have a newbie question. I understand that most of your trailer is all electric however how do you heat the coach? You demoed various electric based devices eg refrigerator, coffee pot, tv etc. etc. but never mention how you heat this trailer. Given the 20 degrees temps in this latest video I am guessing you had heat running to stay warm? Did I miss something? And keep the videos coming!

Thanks. Appreciate you watching. We have a propane furnace. Fan runs on 12V. We weren’t traveling for 4 weeks durning the cold break so no heat was needed. I did have solar going to keep battery topped off.

Voltage looked too high at 14.7 v . I would like to see mine at no more than 14.4 v

I have a very similar 2022 Montana, we have the 3231 CK. It has the 400 watt solar package, same inverter as yours, but 2 FLA batteries that won't make the night with the fridge and my CPAP. Since I have the same MPPT and shunt, do I really need the battery with the comms? It didn't appear that you used the communication ports. I've been looking for the comparisons between the 2 300 ah batteries, from the EPOCH website for clarification. But it's not listed by actual differences. It's the same with the 460 ah batteries as well. Maybe you have access to that information? Just as a note, we are Yankee snow birders, so sometimes we're in the cold. So the thermal protection and battery heater would be helpful. However, we like being southerners in the winter time. I enjoyed the video and your testing. That helped a lot on some of my decisions.

Thanks for watching. I don’t need the coms. The battery BMS and smart shunt gives me all the power information I need. There’s a 460 available without coms and the 300 without coms is back ordered to May. Although not tested the 460 is same construction as the 300 I tested without the coms and heavy duty case. The heated and Bluetooth were my important feature needed.

this is your 3rd video on different types of lithium batteries starting with one from Li Time - why do you keep changing brands as I bought a Li Time based on your first video for lithium and now you are on version 3 of battery brands should I be worried.

LiTime is an excellent battery for features offered and price. I want to give our viewers options. The Epoch is a different class for those traveling in colder climates and wanting the option of a lithium battery. I shared in our LiTime video that it did not have heaters or low temp disconnect. I shared the mod created to circumvent that with a custom box and 12V heat blanket. The Epoch cost more, the one reviewed is in a steel case, has low temp disconnect, is heated during cold temps, has Bluetooth monitoring for the BMS, Victron integration, and an 11 year warranty. If these aren’t needed and budget is an issue, then LiTime is a very good option.

Per James at EPOCH, it is pronounced EPOCK... not epic.
