They just released the TH80 Pro V2 with a screen and VIA about 6 weeks ago. It's very nice as well, these are just modified GMKs but Epomaker does a great job of pulling everything together IMHO. I really liked the V2.

Good Review! Everything you mention is completely accurate. I bought one of these on sale last year for about $85 and had been using it stock all this time. Then, when I saw the kit version on a Black Friday sale, I bought it and some switches and keycaps and built a second one (I have two computers). I'm perfectly happy with both of them. They have the features I want and I'm happy with how they feel and sound.

Got this as a gift with the Flamingo switches. It’s probably my favorite keyboard sound wise and feel wise, but for some reason it constantly disconnects from my Mac. Stays connected to my iPad without issues, but with Mac it’s always a problem. Drives me nuts.

Nice vid mate Gasket mounts aren't meant to provide flex, it's for isolation of the plate. Flex is a side effect that's well-used, but shouldn't be an expected characteristic of gaskets

I have one of these and I did a couple of mods, have no complaints after the mods. The switches were a little lighter spring than I prefer, and also felt sticky (only on certain switches, I am not sure what was causing this) and I was having trouble with accidentally double pressing keys, so I swapped to a heavier linear (durock black lotus). Huge fan of these switches, and although it wasn't an issue in the first place for me they keycaps wobbled a lot less with these switches. I was also having slight wrist paid due to the height and/or profile of the stock keycaps, which is a shame becuase I love the sound and soft feel under the fingers. I ended up getting a lower profile switch from XVX that aren't sculpted at all. They have a really large surface area and made the keyboard sound more clacky than thoccy, which I am not too picky about one way or another. My mom really liked mine stock before I modded everything so I bought her one as well :)

If they figured out how to seamlessly switch between Windows and Mac, how come they are still using the Win/Mac switch in other TH80 models 🤔

I recently purchased a Halo96 (night breeze) and Air96 (wisteria) (using your code), and I'm not a mechanical keyboard enthusiast per se so I don't understand most of the technical stuff you mentioned! I don't play games so only use the keyboard for work at home and in the office. I would love to add a 75% keyboard just for fun but I'd like it to be as thocky as possible without spending more than, say, $150. I enjoy the Nuphy keyboards but they are not really thocky and I'd like to try another brand other than Nuphy Halo75. Would you recommend the TH80 Pro or any other keyboard if I am not capable of doing any modding? If TH80 Pro is recommended, do you think the flamingos or the budgerigars would sound thockier? Thank you in advance!

Hi m8. Great video. I want to buy a keyboard, and ive been searching a lot. Would you choose this th80, the akko 5075b plus, the gamakay tk75, the Womier S-K71 or the RK Royal Kludge H81?

Every TH80X I've seen has a 4,000mAh battery, not 8,000. Am I missing something?

Thank you for the great content 🙏 Would you say the budgerigar switches are a lot louder than the flamingoes? Ive only ever used linears but I'm considering trying the budgerigars
@semiprotech
@semiprotech Год назад
I think they're noticeably louder, but not extremely loud in general. It will probably be more obvious at first but I didn't think they were too loud.

So what's the deal with the ball/globe? What does it do?
@semiprotech

It'a rotary knob, just a different shape. The default function is to control volume and mute when pressed.

are there any prebuilts with shine through keys? feels like a rare feature seldom seen
@semiprotech
@semiprotech Год назад
It's a little bit more common in gaming keyboards to come with shine-through keycaps, most non-gaming keyboards tend to come with standard keycaps even though they may have RGB lightning. Unfortunately not a ton of gaming keyboards are as customizable but there have been some new releases recently that do offer hot-swap like the asus rog azoth.

Yeah, automatic switching between mac and PC mode is actually... a "feature" any cheap-ass membrane keyboard would have.
