Nice demonstration. Actually working with an exact same unit these day with goal of RC steering for a full-size quad. I’m probably gonna discard the control unit and just buy a new dc motor driver and hack the angular sensor. Can update on my channel when I have something to show (within the next month or so).
Should be easy enough to build a power assisted robo-suit with a couple of these. I'd like to see you build an "arm" or "leg" mockup just to see if you can use it to lift something really heavy, or possibly arm wrestle with a world champion arm wrestler? Do something fun with this! :)
Hello Martin, which model Vauxhalls would I find this system on and who is manufacturer of electronics for "fooling" the system. Thanks, Martin. Regards, Paul.
Thanks for the video. Do you remember the name of the aftermarket module that communicates with the ECU. I need to get one for my build and I'm using an NSK j500 ECU that goes with a vw fitted electric power steering unit. 3 wires for communication.
I would to add electronic power steering to my 2006 acura. So how do I get one little boxes ? in the U.S. Or does anyone know the pins on the ecu I need to use ?
Im working on rc steering for a quad with this exact power steering module. I would say intially say yes, because the dc motor which gives the «power» is just standard 12v with two cables. So a 60a motor driver will do it. I’m working into wether I can use (hack) the original torque and angular sensor as well, so I don’t need to add my own. Will probably work, ask me in a months time.
I want to test power steering on the table but I m unable to generate tacho signal and engine speed break speed generator to test power steering on the table.where I get this device shown in video help pls
Does this mean that you have to set the power steering when going fast or slow? Do you know of a way that we can find a automatic way of doing the setting. My project is I am fitting a B1800 Honda power plant into a 1990 mini using the Honda wiring loom and Vauxhall Corse strewing unit, if thathelps
Youngster247 - You should try a very simple Arduino-based varible-effort controller. If you know what I am talking about, you can figure it out quickly. If not, I'm sure you can find someone who knows. Nice thing about Arduino is you can set various ranges for different types of driving, just like the modern killer cars. Good luck!
2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Very cold this morning -20C and the EPS warning light on when car started (easily). Warmed up the interior and some heat to the engine compartment. Ignition off and then back on, EPS warning light cleared, steering normal. Solid state electronics better than liquid steering pump???
No reason why electronics don't work at low temp (high temp can be a problem). More likely battery voltage was a bit low after cold starting and system disabled itself until voltage came back up once alternator had run for a minute or 2
@@msinclair810 Maybe. This morning -15'C in garage, block heater and battery warmer not used today but car starts promptly. EPS light went out quickly and steering loose ready to go! Mysterious. So maybe switch off after a long warm up and then restart should clear it.
I’ve just fitted a Corsa C unit to my 1950 F1 pickup truck and used the controller from the guy in Portugal. I wired it as per his instructions but it doesn’t work. I’ve fed current directly to the motor and this works, is there a way I can check the ECU to determine if this is faulty or if it’s the control. Thanks Tony
Nice.job. cam you tell me the exact model of the power steering are you using? I'm trying to find the model with right side electric motor like yours but with no succes. It is from a right steering car?
Martin, which column and module are you using? I’m trying to find a module like your where I can put a speed sensor but all I can find is the ones that use can-bus network and stay stuck in that failsafe mode..
Hello good day, can I put this corsa controller in a steering wheel of a Chevrolet beat? Or can you tell me which controller I can adapt, thank you very much
Hello . Can anyone tell me where can i buy that "bypass" " adapter that tricks the ecu ". Preference a place like AliExpress or where i can ship to Portugal . Thks
Would you know the common cause of failure on these columns? I have power in but no power out since AA guy boost started my car. Obviously he says it must have been damaged before. (it was fine). Just thinking that a very high charge could have damaged the ecu. Nothing else is damaged.
@@msinclair810 I dropped the column assy out as its the easiest way to check the power and earth leads (which were fine). On inspection of the pcb it looks visually OK with no sign of burning etc and doesn't smell of burning either. But I agree with you that power in but none out is the Control unit. These are coded to the car I believe and secondhand units can't be recoded only "virginised" by using specific equipment. Looks like it's "down the reman route" then. 👍🤑🤑🤑
Bro i have a kia it's EPS when I turn little bit for the right side only at a certain angle the steering make unusual sound like something is grinding inside and when i complete turning it the sound disappears, What is the problem ??
Hello, great video by the way... I just want ask a quick question. The red cable you’ve got connected to the battery with the clips. Where would you connect that red ignition cable when you’ve installed the whole power steering unit in car? Thanks, Mike
The thin low current red wire goes to an ignition on positive, the thick red goes to a high current battery positive supply (such as starter solenoid) via a 30 or 40 Amp fuse.
Hello, my friend, I'm from Brazil and I'm trying to install this column. You have the module's electrical connection, I'd be grateful if you could help me. I want to install on ford escort hugs
@@simonmbulelo7502 Olá amigo o módulo é Mitsubishi mas a coluna é encontrada em carros da Nissan , mais barato e fácil de encontrar aqui no Brasil, se precisa tenho o diagrama elétrico do módulo
Hello, how are you, what is the name of that adapter and the enhancer? What model is it and how much is it and where can I buy it? I want to buy them but I don't know how to find it, if someone can help me, thank you very much.
Simplified explanation about eps wiring. Would you please give me what kind of adaptor you put in three wire? (Ignition, vehicle and motor speed sensors? Thanks jun from philippines
Good morning friend, I'm Brazilian, I'm adapting an electric steering kit in my car, my friend I need help, I saw that you use a potentiometer to regulate the direction, would you like to give me the electrical diagram God bless your life
