Thanks a ton. Nice quick to the point video. Epson should be ashamed of this sort of practice and it should be criminal. Imagine car manufacture one morning locking you out of your car and requiring dealer maintenance because your cabin air filter needed replacing. Then requiring a tow to the shop and dealer labor and parts to replace it. It is infuriating this sort of hostage software is legal.
I can't agree more after tomer service for over an hour on a long distance charge because they don't have 800 numbers and having a representative repeat only one thing over and over again, saying these parts are not replaceable. You have to go to a service repair who wants a $150 to fix period none of them speak English clearly hard to hear hard to understand and the other thing they do is repeat the same thing over and over again because they really don't know the answer other than what the written notes. Tell them the alternative was he offered me a 25% discount. On a limited time, purchase of a new machine period Can't believe How Inafficient, this company is the only thing today is. Money, money, money, no wonder our landfills are so full. Strictly a throw away non ecological company.

You are brilliant! I bought a new printer thinking there was no way to fix this problem, without taking it into an Epson repair center, which was NOT close to my house. Lo and Behold, I followed your steps and it worked perfectly and by downloading the WIC reset, I was able to clear the error pad and gain more life in my printer. YOU just saved my life with this!!! I knew the waste ink pad was getting full & then it froze quit working.. I replaced the waste ink pad itself but EPSON told me there was NOT a reset key for it! Thank you so much for this video... we attempted to get help from Epson, and it was a dead end. They were wanting us to pay for a tech to come out and fix the problem. Obviously, a ploy to get people to spend money that they don't need to. Your process worked perfectly; the only thing we did different was that we purchased the replacement part on Amazon. We got 2 for less than $20.

Thank you so much!! My printer started showing this error after 6 weeks... so annoying. It's a refurbished one so I'm guessing it wasn't reset before I bought it. Supposedly under warranty but i use it every single day for my business, so who has time for all that? I won't mind paying for a key now that I know the process actually works! @@coldrk if it was sold as new, I'd contact the seller. If it was sold as refurbished, this might not have been included in the refurbishment. One way to tell would be by carefully removing the ink tank (you can find instructions/videos online) and seeing if there is a lot of ink in it.
For the skeptical person scrolling through the comments looking for complaints like I did: It actually works. The program kept freezing up for me on Windows 10, but closing the assistant window that pops up by default and clicking on the buttons manually did it for me.

Although our Epson ET-2760 has been an the best overall printer I've owned over the years, this built-in, call the technician flaw was almost a crippling experience since we didn't see it coming! Just did this and it worked a treat. Thank you. What happens when the error message shows up again ? I've had my printer a few years but never really used it that much at all. So was surprised to get this message in the first place.
I use my MacBook and after downloading the WIC driver I was getting an error saying “wicreset” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. I went to settings under security scrolled down and see wic “open anyway” there I was able to follow all the instructions per her video. Thank you!

Nice, appreciate the video as a professional with no access to Epson’s licensed software I was able to use this to successfully help out a client today, worked perfectly. Wish there was a free version that would do the complete reset but, hey beggars can’t be choosers. Beware of some of the other links floating around out there because upon investigation most of them are viruses or malware of some sort and this was the only one I could find that was somewhat legitimate.

Thank you so much for a simple easy way to reset my printer waste ink meter!!! What you did in 4 minutes was by far and away better than other vids 4 times longer that I have been struggling with for the past few days!!! And it was free! I have been dragging my feet for a few months now not sure which path to take to get it running again! I do have another printer question. My color ink compartments are mostly full, but 6 or 8 months ago the color quit printing. I did a nozzle check a few times but I can't seem to get the color to work-so I gave up and just printed with black ink until the ink pad issue a few months ago! I'm wondering if you know what I can do to fix and utilize the color ink that is in the color tanks on my Epson 2750 printer? Thank you so much for your expertise and time!

I've been looking at all the WIC reset counters out there and purchased this one you mentioned through PayPal. Followed your instructions and had it installed and reset in less than 3 minutes. Thank you! Any information on how many copies or copy hours a reset is good for?
Yeah i just ordered a whole new maintenance box because i wont have the time to wait for a new one each time or wait for the pads to dry so ill always have an emergency replacement available. UPDATE i got it working via your info, the only think that was different is my epson Montor 3 disable option wasn't where the instructions included said it would be. other than that and for next time. SUPER easy and QUICK!

@@katiebugxoxo7943 I washed mine out but they dried kind of funky and odd shaped so I ended up buying some generic kitchen sponges and cutting them to fit. Works perfectly!

Hello! I'm getting a rejection error when I try to use this free reset. I followed your exact instructions and I am wondering if this is to old to use anymore? I have the dreaded ink pad error E11 and this does not work for me on my Epson Eco tank 2803 series. Any other advice? Thank you so much!

Can you jsut keep washing the sponge from time to time proactively and keep the sensor from trigerring? this way it becomes a totally analogue way to avoid this issue! Like just wash the sponge once a fortnight.. or does it have other ways to detect this? Like the sensor is just programmed to trigger at certain ink volume has bee wasted to clean the pipes where the sponge full ness is irrelavant?
Thank you so much. May i know can we squeeze the pads/sponge while washing? Or just wash them under running tap. because they are thinner after i wash them, have some gaps between them after reinsert.
If you squeeze you'll encourage the pads to bind together tighter as felt and that reduces their waste ink capacity. Much better to wash them passively and let them dry without squeezing them. In some cases the pad material can just fall apart when washed but particularly when squeezed so that's another good reason to just wash and leave to dry.

Thank you so much, this worked fabulously. I had called epson and they were totally useless. Told me the waste tank couldn't be fixted or replaced and sent me a 15% coupon good for 7 days on buying a new printer. They had also referred me to a local service centre in Vancouver which was some guy with very poor English working out of his basement who said he'd charge me $95. - $130 presumably (not sure) Cdn $. Thank you again. Epson obviously is a major contributor to the land fill. To bad because my ET-2720 is actually a really good printer. I purchased a waste refill kit from Amazon as a backup & noticed it has a chip. The Oem one doesn't will this Amazon one work?
Thank you for your guide! However 80% is way tooo little to reset ! :( Anyway, what is the second counter about? (at 1:00). Mine at first said "0.00% This counter is ok", but when I rerun the program after doing the reset and it said "Counter is 78.5% full" (or something like that). What's going on?

Such a GOOD VIdeo! TYVM - just had the dreaded "Ink Pad near end of service" message, called EPSON - they say NON Consumer replaceable! Well DUH - This looks SO simple ! Love the Wash out the PADS bit too ! I will order an Extra set of Pads, and just swap them OUT , wash, dry - However!~ I need to Print Sublimation *TODAY* - SO might just try the TRIAL Reset, order replacement pads for later / exchange ~ and go DO Todays - again later Thanks So much !
