Let's say you have pictures that you want to be scanned to a computer such as wedding pictures, vacation pictures, graduation pictures, postcards and etc.
Now there are a lot of scanners on the market that will scan your pictures but they won't look quite as crisp and clear as you would like. With a few simple and easy steps to follow you will have perfectly scanned pictures using your Epson workforce WF 3620.

Thanks for the info! Is there any way to select all those settings and get better quality by scanning directly to your computer via wifi? Instead of having to use the USB drive?

I was able to do it by going into system preferences on my Mac and using the scanner interface there instead of the actual printer menu. It's strange that those options are not on the printer itself. Thanks again for the video!

Thank You so much for this video! I was ready to throw my Epson WF3620 out the door, because I couldn't figure out how to scan the whole picture! Do have another question if you can help?? I'm scanning in old family photos, some pics are 3 1/2 X 2 1/2 in size...when I scan those (w/the AutoCrop), it still captures a blank white area...I believe I can go in & edit those pics to crop out that blank area...any thoughts on how I can fix this? The Autocrop isn't working 100% on some of these small photos...Thanks!

You're welcome and I understand how you felt. Try this, click scan, then use memory device if you're using a flash drive, click settings, then scan area, then try max area. Let me know if this helps. Thanks for watching.

Thank you. Perfectly explained. I had already done all that and still had a jpg of a picture against the blank (white) underside of the cover. It looks like the picture is in a document. I am certain that I did jpg and not PDF

Hi, i have the same printer and it is connected to my home wifi. I put a USB in the printer and scanned exactly what you have described. How do I access the USB stick which is plugged into the printer (on which I scanned the photo) from Windows explorer using my laptop which is also connected to same wifi. I know I can simply take out the USB from the printer and insert into my computer and access the scanned image but my question is how to do that remotely over wifi.

You would scan it the same way I did in the video by selecting the highest quality. Then, once it's on your computer you go into the printer's properties setting and make the changes there. The steps are go to properties, more options and then select enlarge document.

I did a search for photo scanners and pretty much all of them cost more than the Epson printer. If you use the Epson's highest scan quality you should be just fine and it's always good to have a copier on hand for those moments.

Thats a good question, I don't know but it has scanned some colorful fake money from the title of a book for me.

You're right the scanner does not use any ink. Because when you scan something it's going to either to the SD card the flash drive or onto your hard drive. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it.

Is there a way to do pics from the feed tray?

If you put pictures in through the automatic feed tray, I believe it will damage the photo or wrinkle it in a way that you wouldn't like the outcome. I would just suggest using the flat tray, even though it will take longer if you have a lot of pictures.

My issue is I can't find the scanned document in my computer. It's not in scanned documents file, I've tried to search by date but still no results?

It's in your user/document by default. What I am puzzle with the method you are doing is trying to change this default setting to my own choosing (my selected folder where the scan file suppose to go), however can't find this setting. I believe you are doing a scan to computer at the printer panel.

Peace, Question. I scanned a document onto my computer before and I did not have a SD card or USB inserted in the printer. For some reason I'm trying to do it now and it will not work, which is what brought me to your video, and on your video it seems that you need one of the 2 in oder to do so. Now I know I'm not going crazy but I did not have a SD card or USB and the document I scanned about a year ago is on my computer. I remember it word and I didn't have either one. Now is this possible or someone slipped an USB or SD in when I wasn't looking and took it back out. Lol Thanks in advance.

That's funny, did someone slip it in when you weren't looking. It happened to me once where I did scan without the SD card or flash drive and it went to the computer. But I don't know how it did it because it only did it that once. Is your computer connected to the printer via the printer cable? That might be the case. But for me I've never been able to duplicate that. So now I just use the SD card or flash drive every time and it just works.

@@oxmanagain lol, no I did not have a USB cable connected. It was just connected wirelessly and still is but for some reason I can't get it to scan onto the computer no more. That's what made me look it up and found you but have not seen no one do it without a SD or USB but I know it can be done because it happened, I did it more than once not knowing no other way to do it and now it don't work, mystery. If you find out, let me know. As of now, I will reach out to Espon because it puzzles me now.

I've tried and tried doing it your way.. Gosh and I am usually pretty good at doing things. Maybe it will take me more time. No matter what I do. It doesn't auto crop.... So sad! LOL

In my printer 4700 there is no flash drive nor sd card.

You are correct. That is something that I do miss but the incredible amount of pages that you can print is phenomenal. Plus, the wireless connection works flawlessly. So if I connect a SD card to my computer then it connects with the printer with no problem.
