IT WORKS! Thank you Terry Wirth! You saved the day. Very nice and easy to follow video. And I liked the slow pace. That made the procedures easy to follow while going between the Epson and my computer.
We are glad that you found the video useful and thanks for watching! On another note, there are others who complain that the vids are too slow. Can't win them all!
Thank you very much i previously owned an Epson SX610 FW but after an electrical interference my printer got defect after 5 years of fateful service. I have bought the 7610 a a replacement printer much to the annoynce of my mum who thinks its a HUGE printer that takes a lot of place (people should be aware of the size if they buy it online without seeing it) I did it see my mum thought it to be to big in the store but i wanted to have it any way because i like Epson and i do like the built quality. Thanks to you i now know why i got the paper cassette not installed error. Just simpley means i had to put paper in, add the a4 size installed just like you show in the video and put the paper in. I didnt remove the entire cassette, im not that handy and im afraid i cant get it back in or break something of the cassette. I did not have to take the entire thing out and also put the plastic top back on just like in the video without taking the entire thing out :). I already scanned it actually scanned something from the document feeder while i was trying to scan from the flatblad scanner (so many options in this printer).
Thanks for your feedback and watching the video! The main reason that this printer is so large is that it can both print and scan A3/Ledger-sized documents.
13:11 whenever i try to use that paper cover, it says paper tray not inserted correctly. when i remove it, it works fine. is that thing even necessary?
I didn't see your second video; though my question is more about the color inks. When you did the test printing, were your colors sharp, vivid, colorful?? I set up my printer; my printer functions as it is suppose to..... but the colors even set at high presentation are just adequate, washed out.... especially the red. This was with the ink that came with the printer, and I purchased genuine epson ink. thank you for your review of my question.
Kathleen Smith Color quality is highly subjective and inkjet colors can be more easily tweaked than toner-based colors can via software. We are sure that if you experiment with photo editing, media and color settings that you can obtain the quality that you are looking for. Be assured that your Epson printer is as capable as any in this regards.
Question for Terry Wirth, Do you be able to make your wifi security or it is full wide open that cannot be set up in security? I am struggling to find a right information since the manual don't really explain clearly how to set up. I don't want anyone in my hood prank and prink to my printer if my printer wifi is open. Hope you can share me and how to set it up. That would be great!
+pmg1180 - It is secure as the network that it is connected to. Your WiFi router should have the highest level of security set up with a secure password. If you are extra paranoid (like me) you can even hide the WiFi SSID (turn off broadcasting) so nobody can even see your network. All of these settings are done in the WiFi router home page.
Ah, thank you. I will try to figure this out with SSID on my router. MMM.. I have other friendly question, do you know why black cartridge would not print even colors print Red,Blue,Yellow work fine but black wasn't. I did go through all the process of cleaning, nozzle, you named it... Nothing happens. I mean it is brand new Epson ink cartridges. It makes no sense. I just had this printer and set it up everything but I could not figure out what is wrong with black ink itself. I did contacted Epson but have not heard from them yet. I am planning to call them again. Maybe you already know and have experienced on this because of the date you showed the video. Maybe the chance you know why. Let me know. Big thanks!
+pmg1180 - It's one of three things: 1) the cartridge is not installed properly--there is a rubber bunge/plastic seal that must be pierced--look at it; 2) you need to keep trying to clean the print head and look for advanced cleaning options--sometimes it takes 2-3 cleanings; 3) the ink cartridge is defective--do 1 & 2 first and if no luck, then shake it to see if there's ink in it, if it feels empty and/or still does not work, return the ink cartridge. Good luck!
Looking in to it as a college student who prints about 10 pages every other day, so how much does the ink cost for a printer that is rather inexpensive?
+Eugenia Loli - I disagree. Canon's cheapest laser printer cost $189 and it is B/W only and cannot print color on A3/Ledger. It also cannot scan, copy or fax. Finally its b/w toner cost per page is 3.5 cents. The WF-7610 all-in-one can color duplex scan A3/Ledger originals, print in color on paper as large as 13"x18" and more. Its b/w ink cost per page is 3.2 cents.
Looking to buy a printer, Just wondering if you are happy with this purchase? All I have owned where HP's and a canon. All in ones. I was not to happy with the Canon. Thanks for the video...
DjsProductions We did not buy or keep the test unit and only used it for a few weeks. This printer works fine but if you require A3 print and scan, I advise that you take a look at the Brother MFC-J6920/6925dw printer because of its much lower ink/cost/yields/cost per page. An MFC-J6925dw Hands-On Test Report is available on our Web site www.wirthconsulting.org and videos are available on our RU-vid channel. If you buy it, don't install the Nuance stuff unless you absolutely need it.
Terry Wirth Thank you Terry for the information. Im just starting out and not at all familiar with the formats. I just want to be able to scan some pictures and I just purchased a Panasonic GH4 and would like to start printing my own prints. Do you recommend a A3 printer for what I want to do. Like i say, Im just starting out. Thanks again for all of your useful information. Im definitely going to go check out the printers you told me to look at.
I have had mine well over a year and love it. I am totally sold on Epson since getting my 7610. It is a beast weight wise and size wise but it is so quick and easy to set up and get on line and the extra large scans are awesome. I couldn't be happier with it.
Glad to hear. Lol, right after posting, I used mine last night . Was trying to scan with auto feed and got a paper jam. I found the problem pretty quick after opening the lid on the top left to expose the rollers. Don't know how or who but I found a potato chip in the compartment. (I never eat or drink around the pc or printer) Anyway, removed the chip and cleaned the rollers and I was back in business. Needless to say, it is a very forgiving printer and I have posted my satisfaction numerous times. Glad to hear you like yours.
I'm trying to figure out what this lose wire on the inside of my printer is for......I'm worried I'm going to try to do something on it, and it not work right. It seems to scan and print okay...I'm worried I broke it when opening it up to clean it, as it got infested with ants when I was living at a different location that had an ant problem. The wire runs up to the scanner, but the scanner seems to work okay.
+xinic5 I do not have one of these printers in stock to take a look at but I can say that not too many printers have any wires hanging around that are vulnerable to damage. If the printer works, do not worry about it. Is it on the rear of the unit? All things considered I would guess that it may be a ground wire from the chassis to ADF.
+Kenea Marara - Indeed a cool printer but its ink costs are on the high side. The are only a few A3 inkjet printers to begin with and the Brother INKvestment series of A3 printers have much lower ink costs. However, they cost more to buy so in order to recoup the cost via ink savings, you have to use them more. That said, this is indeed the best A3 printer for low print volumes.
Myrka - Remove the main tray. You will see that there is a big gray button in the front right surface of the tray. Press it down and pull the ends of the tray apart and it will expand to fit legal- and ledger-sided paper. Also, make sure that you tell the printer that legal paper is installed on both the control panel and in your software.
Beto Parra Lastire It appears that the print head is neither accessible nor replaceable. Here is a helpful guide www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-unblock-an-Epson-Printer-/10000000178305124/g.html
sucks to hear it, i dnt know man, on epson's official webpage, 75% of reviews are positive, the rest is 1 to 3 star rating...so I'm guessing it's not for everyone. Try cheap cannon or hp brand inkjets for emergency home printing then just go to a printing store to do the rest. Its what I do, maybe will help yah out.
It is true that ink is expensive. But this is an A3 inkjet AiO and there are not many of those available. HP has one (OfficeJet Pro 7740) and Brother has several. Ink is cheaper for the Brother INKvestment models.
0x9D is a stuck ink cartridge holder (carriage). Turn the printer off. Open the scanner to expose the carriage. When it moves to the left during post up stop it by pulling the power cable. Move the carriage it all the way to the left, close the scanner and then power it up. It should move freely now and work normally.
