I learned that I’m on a small block Mopar forum with Addison who owns these heads, nice guy and just thought you should know he’s singing your praises on there , sharing your video links to the work you did on these etc. I was glad to see it and thought you should know Charlie, nice job! 👏👏
Addison is the kind of customer that makes me smile. He knows what he wants, he has researched it out, no b.s. just straight shooting. I appreciate the update and nice things written about me! Addison also donated the forged 318-3 crank to the Mission Impossible 318 project. Thanks!
I made 400hp (based on ET/MPH/vehicle weight) with a standard bore 318, back in 2001 with a 5.2L 318 Jeep warranty engine that I freshened up (rings on deglazed cylinders/bearings on polished crank) with a M1 single plane intake, small tube headers and a 750 vacuum Holley. I used a small (then custom ground only, not shelf stocking) Comp Cams 270HR cam (218/224*@.050") and 1.6 ratio Ford pedestal type adjustable rockers (Blue Racer brand!) which gave about .530" lift. SImple and cheap, really not much below 3000rpm but a real hellion from 3500-7000rpm!! No head porting, just a good valve job and MoPar .600"-capable valve springs and retainers (not beehive!). Getting 400hp (and a ton more torque than my 318) from a 360 should be easy with those heads, ported and a decent camshaft with an RPM intake. Thanks for posting!!
I have a set of untouched CH318b heads. They flowed in the 253 cfm range at 0.550” lift. That was with a Hughes intake valve. They backed up to the 236 range with Ferrea valves. I wasn’t sure about the Hughes valves, so that is why we went with Ferrea. This was for a Bmod engine endurance engine.
@@servediocylinderheads I dont know I am not a head porter. The information is on forabodiesonly the Gentleman post on there, builds some great small blocks in magazines articles etc. { SKMFX Budget Small Block - Popular Hot Rodding Magazine } that's a link to one of his builds .
Flowing like a good set of ported E7s...Those should do 400hp stock.. Message the low/mid lift numbers and those would be torque monsters with a low duration torque cam.
The problem with magnum heads isnt the intake pinch, its the shortside radius's and the shrouding on the valves..... deshroud both valves and clean up the short sides and around the guides and the increases are substantial.... back cut the valves while you're at it
