In this Video I will deep dive into the Updated Equalization Effect In Audacity - I will review the recent changes (V 2.3.3) in the equalization options in Audacity and I will explain the Settings in great detail.

Hello! Thanks for the informative video. My problem is that when I highlight the whole track or even a small portion of the audio and go to either the Graphic EQ or the filter curve, it shows as flat. I used to use the Equalization tool to fix plosives in my audio. since updating to Catalina on my mac (mistake, grr) and updating to the new Audacity to work around the bugs, the new audacity doesnt have my beloved EQ tool and now it only shows as flat. Any tips?

Hi Virginia Gallagher, It sounds like you know how it works well enough that we can count out user error since the graphic eq and filter curve didn't change in practice. Since the MacOS 10.15 (Catalina) did not support audacity V2.3.2 or older, I'm guessing they haven't worked out the bugs in the latest 2.3.3 version yet. At this point the only thing I can suggest is reporting the bug you are seeing and hoping they get it fixed asap or reversing your MAC update to the previous version. I try to avoid updating my OS for about a year after a new OS is available to give them time to work out the bugs. Sadly, once most of the bugs get worked out they release a new os and the challenges start again. I wish I could have been more help. I'm guessing you are talking about the very first track I showed? Since this video was about EQ, i was focusing on the equalization. The only thing I didn't sample was the noise reduction. Bro...so nicely you made this vdo.. I m also a audacity user.. I m facing a problem in audacity... I had made a track in audacity..i mixed and exported in my phon in mp3 format,, when i listened it... The drum beats sound is soo horrible... How to edit drum track in audacity...? Plzz help

Quick question, for example, if you use bass boost, and click ok, and then you go to filter curve again and click treble boost, and click ok. Do you lose the bass boost effect, or do you keep both effects on the track??

When i record my piano with usb, i can still hear static, that apperantly comes from the electricity, and can still hear the chords being pressed, why can i hear it? And will this video tutorial help remove it?

HI J.A drew, the EQ could be of some use for you but I would try using the techniques in my "removing background noise" video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IXvbHy4ozmI.html to get rid of the electricity noise. As for the chords being pressed, the key to removing them would be to find a way to isolate that specific sound and remove it with either the EQ or possibly using the same techniques in the "removing background noise" video. Can you elaborate just a bit, are you saying it's not showing up in the drop down or are you saying you can see the Graphic EQ and Filter Curve in the drop downs but they are greyed out? Or something else?

I see that Equalization is disable, and when I try to enable it, It never works, after i press ok I never found Equalization on the list, and I can't understand why, can you please help me out with that ? thank you already and sorry for the late answer.

@@youngpharaohnostop98 - I think the reason is that the old equalization effect was removed in the Version 2.3.3 - They replaced it with the Graphic EQ and Filter Curve effects which do all the same things as the older equalization effect. Try looking for the Graphic EQ and Filter Curve effects in the "Effect" drop down. You should be able to find everything you need there. I hope this helps and thanks for the feedback!

I feel like you really know your stuff, but you forget that your audience doesn't. It's a tutorial, right. I'm looking for one that assumes I don't know anything about frequency.
