Excellent video! Thank you for the comparisons. I had an AT pro until a couple of years ago. You proved what I already suspected about its lack of depth.
At last, a great video comparing the XP Deus and the Equinox - please post some more videos, especially comparative videos on the XP Deus vs the Equinox! Great video, thanks for posting...both machines are very close in performance!
Great test. I have the same 3 detectors and I did this test also in my south Alabama soil and got almost the exact same results as your test. Great video.
I wanted to see the Equinox in Gold mode at the higher frequencies on the Gold at 6" because I really want to see how this VLF might compare to a PI on even a nugget 1/3 of that size. Thank you for the tests it was great information.
The test we all been waiting for ! good job, what missing is to see who win the reactivity challenge ( and challenge of reactivity at depth and usability ) and the id accuracy and how is it dispatched , because what i like with the sovereign is the id range is big 250 and you can really say this sound is for that target and it accurate most of the time ... the equinox seem to have like a range of 100 and not as accurate as the sovereign . that why a test would be nice. thumb up ! gl hf
This will be a good comparison if deus and equinox are set to their maximum program settings,on deus basic program sucks a lot. Also put equinox on same frequency as deus, do manual ground balance on both machines and try to set the maximum of them then the battle will be fair.
Great comparison video. Be interested to see how an AT Max performs as well (upgrading and can’t decide between a Nox and the Max). Thanks for the Vids - keep ‘em coming please 👍🏻
Get the Nox! The AT series is no competition against it! I have an AT Gold, but if you go to Calabash Digger's channel, he does many thorough comparisons with all the AT series, including the Max, and it is blown away by the Nox! I just bought a Nox myself!
It also makes a difference if the coin is in its natural found state not re buried as i once dug up a silver sixpence on sound and didnt look at the display reading at over 12" with the AT pro and then reburied it to take note of any display reading and it wouldnt even pick it up! so it proves that the mineralisatian from the coin leaching into the earth makes a difference.I have also now bought a XP deus and that is a beautiful machine.
I've been waiting for an independent review of the equinox 800 before I sold my ctx to get one and I think this has sold me one it. I'll still keep my deus as my primary machine because I still think it would out shine the equinox when using a different program I know this for a fact as I have dug items smaller than the gold nugget using Gary's ultimate program at 12-14inchs it would be good to see a comparison between the box and the deus after people have had more time to play around with the box to learn how to tweak the programming for best results we'll have to wait and see cheers 🍻
couldnt agree more mate. once you get it, theres no point using anything else. best machine out there for the professional deccy. wish i had one 25yrs ago!
Load of bollox My AT Pro would have heard all those targets. Found a roman Minim over 12 inches on pasture. Try ground balancing first and turn the sensitivity up from 50%.Gold on the AT comes in really low .found a celtic gold stator at about 7inch came in at 46. same as a lot of lead. silvers up around the 70s Its a good solid machine. And no not sponsored by garret or anyone else.cant comment on the equinox. ATB Andy in the UK
I am right there with you. I will probably keep the AT Pro for guests or wife to use when we go hunting. I just have to wait till Sept to get mine - birthday gift for myself. Hmmm anniversary is August maybe I can talk her into getting it early :)
Great test as I have been looking for a machine to go in water with, I have been looking at the Deus, At Pro and the Minelab Equinox 800. The price difference of $400 + will seal the deal for me and i like multi Frequence machines I'm Getting the Minelab.
I have an old Garrett's GTA X500 that out performs most of the later Garrett's metal defectors like the AT Pro, Max etc. I also have a new Mine Lab Equinoxes 800 with all three coil's. The Box 800 will hit anything I'm looking for. I use mine mainly for Gold and its a winner hands down.
It's nice to see a test where someone has taken the time to bury stuff. Air tests are fine - and easy to do - but seeing the results of actual in-ground targets is awesome. I'm still awaiting the arrival of my Equinox 800. I'm chomping at the bit while I watch video after video - ha.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Remington Zechariah Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thanks for the Video, I have an AT Pro and was considering the 800 and the F75Plus to replace the ATPro. I Mainly do relic hunting in the woods. At least for me it would be interesting if the F75Plus would work as deep as the 800 on Coppers and Bullets.
This is the one everybody has been waiting for deus vrs nox ,there's not a lot between both machines on depth , would like to see a few rusty nails thrown in mix for next video ,thanks for posting
Thanks for sharing...very interesting comparison. Took a lot of time too so we all really appreciate you doing that! Can you address the AT Pro sensitivity questions below? (Maybe you did already and I missed it).
Great video, you worked hard there. I have an at pro, which i love, but now i"m thinking to sell on for an equinox 800 or 600. Keep swinging mate. Regards John S.Wales UK
One thing you should account as well. Eqinox has 11 inch coil on it while Deus 9 inch coil. 9 inch coil is the weakest of all the Deus coils. With 11 inch coil Deus would perform better.
I rarely comment on metal detecting videos, but I had to in this case. great video and review of these machines. You definitely earned this like and subscription!
i dont know how to take your video i mean thats fresh buried and its fact that once something is in the ground after a period of time ALL metals develop a halo or balloon if you will, around them, that is pretty much a bubble that contains trace elements of the artifact your detecting in the ground. just like when you hunt after a rain you think your machine goes deeper, but it doesnt. the water in the soil surrounding the object makes that halo/bubble surrounding the object bigger is all.
you should have stuck the excal. in the mix.......does good in the dirt also....surprises many - great vid steve.....now when you go out with beaver things will be more equal.....our guy says maybe mid week on some of our 8 box's....good luck
Nice test video, thanks! Other tests I'm looking for is the Equinox 800 vs AT MAX vs White's TDI SL. I currently have an AT Pro and am going to purchase a better machine for gold at the beach. It's going to be one of those three.
Awesome video. You can make deep targets sound like shallow and be very loud, that's what I think the biggest plus is for the Deus. The Equinox does not seem to be able to make deep targets louder.
Hello sir This is Mohammad I want to inquire about the identification numbers of the Equinox device regarding gold coins..I am in an archaeological area in the Middle East..and what are the best settings for gold made Thanks a lot
Might try that test with the same size coils on all the machines.Maybe someone like nel makes coils the same size for all three.I mean it's kinda known that size does matter when it comes to metal detecting.
My Whites MX sport hits targets at a foot regularly and deeper with the sensitivity cranked. On the beach I've dug large alum at two feet, crazy, I know. I have a hard time finding gold but silver, bullets, fishing weights and coins can't escape me.
you need the HF elliptical coil for the deus to go deep, and use gold mode on the equinox with the small coil, you will be close on the 6 inches, I find fly poop with the ORX
Great test ! I just got the 800 EQ. and I have the Excalibur 2. Pls. test ! Love the Excalibur but headphones are cumbersome when pulling targets out of ground or beach. I`m hoping to use EQ. regularly and Excal. for scuba
Thanks for this video. It is nice to see those comparisons, altough the size of the coils are not equal ;) But annyway, Over the 25 years that i´m searching a had multiple Garretts, minelabs, White´s and even a Laser Rapier (I still have btw) I´m now searching for over 10 years with a XP Deus (started with SW2.0, now recently updated to 5.0). I have to admid that altough Minelab Is working on multiple frequences, i had more gold finds with the Deus.
That was cool I goggled xp deus and you can touch on blocks of what is being searched. I was interested in how the deus compared to the equinox. The equinox which I have, was searching the gold nugget in field mode...
I use the pro and max. What is the sensitivity? I pull copper and silver in pro zero both machine's. No discrimination. I pull lead 12 inches all the time. Coins are tricky but, I do believe the test was a good base line test.
I’ve just hung up my AT Pro after my NOX 800 purchase. Went out in my own yard for an hour and found all kinds of treasure including an 1838 Seated Half Dime. My Pro didn’t even hear it.
@@Gigmaster how do they compare in the soil? I haven’t detected a beach before but now I feel I need to go back to my old permissions and hit them again.
Hello good afternoon GIGMASTER .... I would like you to give me your opinion of which detector to choose .... taking into account that I have a garrett ace 150. What do you recommend of these 3 devices: White TM 808, MAKRO MULTI KRUZER AND EQUINOX 800 ?
I've owned a Minelab, and a Whites, but sold them both. Getting ready to order an XP Deus, and I have a feeling I'll never use another detector, unless XP makes something better than the Deus.
Great split screen ! I am thinking of the Garrett max.really would like you to compare the equinox and the Max. I just started using the at pro; I'm sick , ha. I do like how the at pro controls work. Thanks for your great videos.
EVERYONE!!! Slow the video and watch @ 1080... The AT Pro was on half sensitivity (Bottom middle of the screen) it was in Pro Zero. With a smaller coil no wonder why it won't hit... Equinox was set to full Sensitivity (In lower left side of screen) Deus was at 90%... Anyone can rig a test...
At Pro was at the basic setting following machine reset which is down 2 bars. Equinox was at its normal setting which is down by 5 (20 vs 25) and deus was on its programmed mode. No rigging here.
In the video @1:37 you can see the Equinox IS at full bars on the left side of the menu screen... I got my first chance last week to try one and I can't say I'm impressed. It isn't as good in Iron as everyone is making out. It does however do a better job of hitting super small targets... Try an Earring back...
Rigged. Let me setup my Pro with the 5X8 coil. I'll kick the minelab butt. I found a silver tooth on a football field at 8 inches with the 5X8 and lacked 1 bar being full sensitivity. The tooth was a bucket lister by the way.
The equinox has a range of 1-25 sensitivity. When you see 4 bars it is set from 16-20 (it was at 20 as per that program) today was actually the first time I ran the sensitivity all the way up to 25. Curious to see what it will do at max sensitivity.
Like your videos very much. Thank you for the comparison test. For its coil size, the Deus did great I think. Would you compare the Equinox with the Xcal and the 3030 too? HH
I'd love to see how it does in the hot soil of Culpepper. I know it won't hold up compared to pulse machines but curious how it would compare to other vlf's.
I think you would have been impressed more with the NOX on the gold nugget if you had tried the prospecting mode(s)...nice video, thanks for posting it.
Great, entertaining vid! Disclaimer-I just bought the Equinox so I wanted to see that machine out-perform the others...but...you swing all the machines the same slow speend. I'm wondering if the AT-Pro didn't get a fair shake as it may need to be swung faster. I'm just making conversation... I really hate Garrett products...but I did want to point that out. I know minelab is known for slow swing speeds, but I'm not sure if the nox is the same. I have been swinging the T2 for years and that machine wouldn't pick up any of those coins at that slow swing speed. Just throwing it out there. But thanks again, and I hope the Minelab is all it's cracked up to be.
AT Pro has been my go to machine for years. I have found some amazing stuff with it. You can actually program the response time on Deus and Equinox but not AT Pro.
As others explain pro and Deus not set to full potential, never use the Deus on basic 1, if the reactivity was lowered also , silencer to -1 and a proper ground balance results would be much better. Also on the gold nugget why didn't you use the proper goldfield program?
Just for S&Giggles it would have been interesting to see what the Equinox would do in gold mode. If you get a chance, can you try the nox in all different modes on that little nugget?
I did not turn it down that is standard when you reset the machine. The Standard on the equinox was down also. It is at 20 in the standard mode I was using and it goes up to 25.
Got an NEL coil for my AT Pro and definitely does better than the standard coil! I just used all standard equipment and standard settings to be fair in the test.
these guys can't comprehend what STANDARD is? No...lets put the AT PRO on highest sensitivity and add the nel coil and lower the 800...now we have a fair test??? LOL Crazy!
