I'm very disappointed by this, I find myself judging all wheat beers to the Aldi Rheinbacher, this doesn't measure up with the flavour levels! I also recently had the Ottinger dunkle wheat beer and it kicks it's arse! This is not an unpleasant beer, but there's no punch to it!
agree, it`s a bit of a non event. Weihenstephan Hefe Dunkel Weiss on the other hand is stunning. Bread, malt biscuit, banana, chocolate etc.. It is amazing, Waitrose used to sell it, cant find it anywhere else and it`s a proper German beer. This Erdinger feels a bit mass produced. www.beersniffers.co.uk/weihenstephan-hefe-dunkel-weiss-nrb/
This beer is very disappointing. It's like a dark lager, it's nothing like a weizen, almost non existent banana and clove flavours that are typical for the style. And it's at the price of the other german weizens, which are all incredible and beat this crap by miles.
