The Mystery deepens.

Sounds credible to me. The mystery may soon be solved!

Sounds a high possibility but I wonder would there be a sense of disappointment if the mystery was finally solved ? Is it almost better if it remains a mystery ?

Which issue of Genii was it in?

Was this guys' name Emily or Emory ? Funny no one has commented on the name! Maybe Emery.

Does it seem believable that a 23 year old would have the depth of knowledge demonstrated by the author of "Expert at the Card Table"? He states, "We betray no confidences in publishing this book, having only ourselves to thank for what we know." If we take Erdnase at his word, then the material in the book is original with him. The amount of material, which is not just about the sleight of hand, but also the teachings about psychology and strategy, always seemed to me to be coming from someone with many years of experience. Someone with decades of involvement at card tables. The content of the book is extremally challenging and numerous talented, gifted magicians have indeed spent years trying to master much of what is taught. Would it be possible a person of 23 would master all that the book has to offer? I hope the mystery has been solved, but it still feels there are loose threads.

In order to accept Evans' candidate, you have to toss out Marshall Smith's testimony about meeting Erdnase. Not gunna happen. Smith, who was 6 feet tall remembered looking down at Erdnase, a fairly short man. Evans' candidate was about 6 feet tall as well. He was not Erdnase.

What evidence do they have that Andrew’s had even seen a deck of cards before.

Utterly unpersuasive.
