I thought maybe he did his research and told adult swim he wanted slave clothes and star trek props.. and they were like "Ok, we wont tell eric"... then he did all this
wait .. so ..that guy ..that randomly shows up ...and repeatably say .... "i wish i was levar burton" is lance reddick?????? wow! i honestly didn't recognize him ?? O_o i though it was just some random guy that just showed up on the show?
@@jordanboyd5587 you can say that for some reason on tv, I've never heard it censored. Even the south park episode where randy drops the hard R isn't censored
@@onerandombruh Him coming out with the chains and that mantra or whatever was some of the funniest and most memorable things I've seen a celebrity do lol. He's everything :D
RIP Lance, this is one of my favorite interviews of all time and always cracked me and my friends up in college. Rest easy dude, you were an incredible talent
The man had a legendary career, but I had to come here and see him do this bit because it's one of my favorites of all time. Rest well you legend. You are immortal in so many mediums.
I love how Lance was into the skit. Eric said in an interview this was the only somewhat scripted thing with a guest because they had the costume backstage already.
No it isn't. Watch the video where eric andre eats spicy wings. He says it takes around 3 hours to record each episode and the best stuff is always improv
ye but on occasion the guest goes into it knowing that its all a prank and not a legit talk show. its pretty obvious in this case he knew what he was in for.
@@Honsanmai there is an interview where he talks about the show, he said him getting mad and storming off was Eric's idea but the punch was improvised. The end bit was also Eric's idea but was pitched to Lance about 20 min prior so nearly all the dialogue is improvised
Said by someone who's never played it. All those fucking meme videos get it wrong. Oblivion conversations are inane, not insane (unless it's shivering isles I guess).
***** Thanks yeah I've seen a lot of random shit that makes me wonder whether or not EAS is scripted or not. Like seriously did they really bring in a fucking living Grizzly Bear on the show untamed? OR when they set fire to Hannibal's chair and had to put it out because it was out of control?
***** Wait, on Howard Stern I thought he said 90% of people have no idea what's going to happen? Which is why Lauren Conrad ran away after watching Eric slurp up the fake vomit.
@@EliteAaron eric said on his social media once that he knew that this is scripted but they didnt tell eric that lance is acting so yeah thats a genuine reaction from eric when lance punch the desk
+Matt Britzius considering like 10 seconds later he came out in slave anklets and a geordi la forge visor, screaming "warp speed dont rainbow read me nigga", id say the latter
Watch the interview with Lance on the sam and norton show , he said " eric told me to get up and walk away angry. " The punch of the desk was all Lance , eric did not know he was going to punch it like that.
I still can't believe he left so soon. He was a fine specimen of a human being. Funny, humble, good-looking, talented -the whole package. He will be missed.
@@erincurrie1560 this is wrong. Him slamming the desk was planned but Eric didn't know about it. They did the same thing in the Jewelry Heist prank, the guard was an actor but Eric didnt know that
Rest in peace, Lance, when I heard the news one of the first pieces of media I thought of was this, definitely one of the best guests to ever grace this show.
Eric Andre show writers: Lance you have 30 seconds you can do literally WHAT EVER you want and we'll put it on the show and say we wrote it for you. Lance: say no more fam
I'm soooooooooooo happy that Lance Reddick decided to play along and go along with what Eric Andre wanted in that ending sketch. 1,000 likes to Lance Reddick for having a sense of humor.
That is the best part haha, Riddick wasn't bothered at all by their shenanigan's and they had to wrap soon so they kinda just let him do whatever he wanted idfk what "Iconic slave roll" is supposed to be. I am aware of the character from Stark Trek but he wasn't a slave was he?
@@AlaskaBoyAlex you don’t really. It’s just depressing and throwing guilt at the white man. Because we are totally responsible for stuff that happened hundreds of years ago.
Nah, he would automatically win, because whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon.
Thank you for transcribing that for me. I scrolled down into the comments looking to see if anyone understood that line. My dumb brain couldn't figure it out. Well, to be fair to myself, I couldn't understand "warp speed". The rest I could gather, but again.... my stupid brain could not discern the first two words.
@@Fab1us it's the internet, anyone can say whatever they want. If you don't like it.. I dont know how I could comfort you to the harsh truth of reality.
at first i was wondering if he really got honestly mad and left, but then i saw him come back out in a half star trek half slave outfit and i was like "ok then"
This is so funny. Because every role I ever saw him in he was so regal and classy…. I never could have imagined him so… animated…. He was truly a legend.
looked up the eric andre interview immediately to see the best/most accurate measure of his personality. he definitely didn't disappoint. the loss of a true legend.
"Is crabs more embarrassin' than aids?" The pure genuine fashion in which he asks that, as well as the fact that it comes out of nowhere just murders me every time. Hannibal is a total treasure
This is why I love Lance. He played along this subversion perfectly. Acted like he was pissed off but in reality was in on the bit. RIP you talented dude taken away from us too soon
i like how eric looks genuinely confused, like lance brought the outfit himself, stormed out of the interview, changed quickly, then just stormed back on.
@@mrgreen2646 The costume is an amalgamation of LeVar Burton's two most famous roles, Kunta Kinte from Roots, and LaForge from Star Trek. "Warp speed" is a thing from Star Trek. LeVar Burton hosted a TV show teaching kids to read called Reading Rainbow
Cloud [] Control actually it’s one of the gags Eric and lance planned out from the start, so nobody knew except those two, which is funny given how much of this interview lance improved.
