I grew up in this neighborhood and Eric was my across-the-street neighbor. Our neighborhood consisted of police detectives, firemen, policemen, postal workers, factory workers. There were large and small families, some with one parent and some with two. I played tennis with his sisters and his little sister who was fond of animals like to come and pet our dog. We had a neighborhood pool and basketball and tennis courts. Though it may have changed over the years, they are still families!
Wow Debra I was born in Milwaukee the winter of 1944 and raised in two cities Milwaukee and Los Angeles but I'll never forget where I came from, 2312a north twelve street, concord 43907
I remember what an honor it was to work on this music video set and for the legend to come Home 🙌🏾. Salute to Eric Benet for doing this on his old block. #Milwaukee
This song is every word I want to say to the love of my life right now, who perceived something incorrectly, and is battling with it… I get it, and the feeling is valid, even if it is false. So if I could go back in time and give the correct perspective, just as he sings, we would be as crazy in love as we were the day before
Oh the memories when I hear this 😩 I was in middle school… me and my mama listening to this on the way to school and both of us singing 🥹 she’s gone now and I automatically think of her when I hear this 😭😩💖
This is DEFINITELY the theme song of mine and my best friend/fiance's life together. Growing up together, liking each other since high school, dating a long time, and now finally getting married next month with a buncha ups and downs in the middle of about 13 years.....YES this is the right song.
I was at this video shoot, I remember being 16 and being amazed at the whole set up. Notice at the end of the video it looked a little darker. It was a huge storm coming and then tornato sirens started going off so they had to wrap it up before it really started pouring. Lol Good old days!!!
Sounds about right to me... "going back to the day we parted, and all the ways you were broken hearted... We live & learn--too bad we can't really "walk back in time to right all those wrongs"
I LOVE this song. Funny how a certain song can make you feel one way when hear it at one point in your life and a completely different way after a chapter in your life has drastically altered.
I just wanna say that this song is my ringtone for my boo...I luv it shit hell I sing it when I wake up when & when I go to bed... Eric thanks for this GREAT tune ...CAN U PLEASE PERFOMR THIS @ MY WEDDING ....

I wasn't a big ERIC BENET fan until i saw him at the Jazzfest in Columbia Maryland, 2008, He said, "This was a make-up song to Halle Barry" for all his infidelitys. He said he PHUCKED UP ! I have big respect for ERIC BENET for making that statment. Some of us men mess-up and never say sorry. He did. He'll rank up there with all the R&B singers that i've enjoyed seeing in the years of going to concerts. BUT, The Best concert i've seen will always be Luther Van Dross & Patti Labelle. LEGENDARY.
Makes me miss the love of my life ... and I can still remember ever word, every glance, every touch, and every kiss on the last day we spent together. No-one could fake that and no-one can ever replace that :-(
My fiancé sent me this today 🥰. We feel this! Thank you for helping him express his love for me with this beautiful song🙏🏽. It feels so amazing to be loved like this!
