Clapton playing the hardcore blues that he grew up listening to.... that's magnificent! We can clearly see it here that he wasn't doing it for the public or his band or hell... not even for himself but for his blues heroes. The commitment, admiration and love is massive! Thank you, Eric!
Up to this point in '94, he had lived some hard "kicked in the gut" moments, with his Patti Boyd rejection in 1970 leading into his drug phase, and the passing of his son in '91. Surely his personal lifetime of blues was being channeled through in these gigs he played like this one.

This is what Blues is all about. Singing your heart out, making your guitar screaming and crying your pain to make people feeling it. No fuss, no extravagance, just the man pouring his soul out through his instrument. This video is one of the best testimony of one of the best Clapton's era ever, where he basically went back to his roots to make it his own. Fortunately for us, Martin Scorsese was there to capture these masterpiece moments so that everyone always remembers what a phenomal artist Clapton is. Nowadays you can criticize Clapton's stances on some sensitive topics, but you won't take away his musical legacy that will remain forever as long as there will be ears to listen.

He was the last concert my husband went to see in Washington DC before he passed in 2018! He played most of all Eric’s music and he was real good I miss his playing. This is just amazing to here Eric God bless this man always Thanks for the reminder Love it
The tone from that Stratocaster is just perfect for this song. It just grows along with Erics voice, the guitar just sings during the pause in the vocals. Magnificent.
Just about as good as you'll see someone playing their a$$ off as far as guitar AND vocals. Man, those may have been the best vocals I've heard from any musician, especially the forceful emotion you hear

I've never seen another type of music (i.e. the blues) that calls up such passion in its players - particular EC. The blues never fail him because he has such reverence for his idols and influences going way back. They are who he is channeling in this performance along with his own blues for which he's had plenty. If you want to hear a musician who "gets" the feel for this idiom, you are watching one of the greatest to strap on a six string. I get chills listening to him and want to immediately sit down at my instrument which isn't guitar, but keyboards. Now that's what inspiration does! Wow. Love you Eric - human frailties and all.

I saw him one time and thought he had 0 stage presence or that IT factor at all... I felt like didn't get much for my money or would ever pay too see him again... his Cd's are decent though
I dont what show you saw, I saw him at MSG and it was spectacular. Hes never been outwardly social with audience, he let's music make the connection. If you want alot of interaction with audience go see someone else not as special

FANTASTIC!! Clapton at his best playing the Blues and music that influenced him right from the start! It really doesn’t get any better than this! His tone is awesome, phrasing and there’s so much passion, soul and emotion in his playing it’s unbelievable!!
Extraordinary! This release has been long anticipated by myself. This album and its tour was such a high watermark in an already illustrious career up till this point. EC is on fire!
Oh man, that was so awesome !!! You can definitely tell that THIS IS where EC's heart is.. in the blues !! This oozes passion both in his singing & playing.. SPECTACULAR !!!
Honestly, this is the best I've heard blues being played. I suppose SRV would be a close second, but there's a bunch of musicians that try to play this genre (famous or not so) that sound pale in comparison, like most of what you might hear in a Famous Daves. Eric's lived through enough crap up to that point (and his son's passing was still fairly fresh here only about 3 years prior), that he could channel all those different emotions in this tour. Probably even therapeutic to an extent.
Brilliant and perfect..... as always.... inspirational, on stage with his music... just as inspirational off the stage with his words his charity and commitment to the majority of people who's voice is ignored.
I am 29 years old and I've been waiting for the release of this masterpiece for at least 14 years. Since I've first seen the RU-vid-Version in bad quality at least. Thanks for the release! Clapton is GOD!

The reason I ever picked up a guitar was because of Bell Bottom Blues. I have saw him whenever he comes to Cleveland, Ohio and I am blown away every time. I bow down to E.C. Hey kids, it's not going to be any better than this. Ofa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Possibly the greater guitarist ever. And at this later stage In his life, SLOW HAND displayed a truly gritty vocal style that was a match & then some, relative to the best in blues. Excellent, on every level.😎
Well, I've seen him ranked as high as #3 in Guitar World rankings. Jimi is always 1, but Jimi didn't know pure Blues like Eric does. Who knows. Of course, there are people who say Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best based on pure talent. Do you know SRV?

Magnificent. Eric’s singing and tone have aged like fine wine. With this huge band backing him up, that Stratocaster barking and screaming, I also think… what if Hendrix was beside him… Majestic
The guitar is an extension of the body and the mind, all rolled into one. Eric has made an extraordinary effort with his voice. A real fusion, an alchemy. We are completely stunned by this performance.

This performance takes me back to November 1994, when I was fortunate to have been in the audience for 2 of the 3 Fillmore shows. The icing on the cake was talking to Eric upstairs in the poster room, and shaking his hand
You continue to make some, if not all, of the best playing that I have heard in my 72 years. I have followed your career since 1964/5 when you played with the Yardbirds. I believe that you have the best “touch” of any guitar player that I have ever heard. Thank you for the past sixty years, or so. You deserve every single penny you have earned, the numerous accolades that you have received over the years. Thank you for the enormous pleasure that your music has given me.
Extraordinary blues performance, the best live performance i've ever seen in Paris France 24 March 1995. A wonderful memory, so glad to attend this show . Clapton was literally possessed (by robert johnson spirit?) , almost in a trance this night.

EC has made it clear that he does not like that reference, and since he is now a faithful man, and a modest person, it is LITERALLY an attack on his faith in the one true living God of Abraham. Eric's come a long way from when I use to watch him play in our resident band, John Mayall's Blues Breakers back in the mid-sixties, he just got better and better.
