😂No he’s not. Love Eric and that whole era they where all true artist in music and well when u play, got and feel the blues it’s magical. What an awsome concert
How. In Heaven’s name. Can anyone say. That this man. This consummate musician. This artist. Is. In any way. Overrated? How? His emotional depth. His generosity of spirit. Everything. A gift to me. For which I am deeply grateful.
I was at this concert and have seen EC about 25 times !!! What I love about him is he always let's other artists shine !! He is the world's greatest living guitar player, he has NOTHING to prove so he let's others enjoy the spotlight. I've seen it time and time again !!
I don’t think anyone will ever be ever to play like him either. They’ll steal some licks, try to immolate his phrasing, his style. But..,.you’re right - they’ll never be Clapton.
I think this is the best version of old love. I mean i get goosebumps every time I click on this video. Those feelings are insane, I feel it in my whole body when Eric starts singing.
I was at this show. This was in Madison Square Garden in June of '99, (and again when it was held in 2013)...I just can never pass up any chance to see Clapton, especially when it's with his friends, and despite being called "Eric Clapton and Friends in Concert : A benefit for The Crossroads Centre in Antigua". Over the years it just became known as "Eric Clapton's Crossroads Tour". And instead of lasting just a few incredible hours, as Eric realized the extent of his reach into the music community, it's grown to a full day event. I've been going to see him play, anytime he's been anywhere near the NY City area since his Slowhand Tour in '78. I've never missed a Tour, and always try to get tickets for more than one show. And in the countless Shows I've been blessed to see, I've never left a single one feeling like it was anything less than incredible, or that there were other songs I'd have preferred to hear. The man is just an absolute LEGEND. One of the greatest guitarists who've ever lived. ✌️
My admiration for Eric Clapton started way back with the group called " Cream".He has been dubbed the most iconic guitar player in the world and had me hooked on his 9 minute version of the hit "Cocaine".His rendition of "Tears From Heaven" was painful but glorious for fans.He has maintained consistency and excellence in performances with both a sensual voice and magical riffs. He is the consummate musician.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@simonedevlin7710Couldn't agree with you more. He's an absolute Legend. Only person to be Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame THREE TIMES. There's nothing he can't do with a guitar. Can't wait to catch him the next time he comes thru NY again. The man is just phenomenal ✌️
This man has done so much for the music industry his music is legendary his guitar talents exceed all have thought out created an orchestrated with his talents his skill sets just a true master you can only be proud of this man and what he has done for everyone with the music he has written and played for us for all these years he is giving us giving us so much joy throughout our livesThank you Eric so very much!!🎤🎸🎤🎸🎤🎤🎸🎸
Amazing, as many times as I have heard him play this song live and just about the time I think Iv'e heard it all before, Clapton slaps's me right in the smacker and proves me wrong. Another performance for the books. The thing that separates Eric from most guitarist. is that he can not only play like the devil but he can also write great songs...IMO ....and I know there are many other famous guitarist that can write and play but not many. Being able to play great and write great songs is what separates the famous from the not famous...(at least in most cases)...
Never will there ever be another Clapton. He's the very greatest guitar player. Derek Trucks is another brilliant guitarists. His guitar playing is instrumental in the making of music come to life. I love these guitar players and Mark Knopfler. Awesome
@DonnaWestbrook-dz 1hp, Derek is phenomenal, and I love when he was sitting next to JJ Cale and Eric Clapton (Anyway The Wind Blows) and he was playing, and watching everything they did. 😊❤
My favorite song of his, the passion & emotion. And a reminder that we all have that "one' we cannot get over, & the "one" we compare those that come after to - better still the "one" that will make us forget the past The guitar is an extension of his soul, a voice
Music to mevbrings out the sorrow ascwell as the joy i have in my heartb..it smiles yet it cries...thats how i describe my relationship with music of my choice ......I miss you❤❤❤❤
It’s an amazing song and all so true. Bold in your face, then subtle caresses then blasts of fireworks back to Anger, confusion and feelings of betrayal, but eventually returning to longing.
…and his on stage performances with other just magnify his presence, talent, leadership and mentoring those who follow in his footsteps. He IS legendary.
this would have to be my favourite single song live performance i've seen of eric clapton, the composition, the execution, the band, the soul, will never fail to take me to the greatest heights of inspiration whenever i watch and listen to it. Magic!!!
I was lucky enough to have been at MSG this night….total out of body show…….Eric and Band ( and guests) at the top of the craft…….amazing to see it now…..this recording is next best thing Kim 😁☮️
Dios bendiga a estos maestros interpretes del blues por su música,a mis 68años sigo disfrutando con un aguardiente antioqueño aquí en Medellín Colombia de este hermoso género.🍻👍felicitaciones!!!
@@ericclaptonofficials Thank you so much! I am very well WHEN I listen to E.Clapton's very nice song/music what/which I love(!) since1969!!! I am very glad if I can hear those! They are in my ,,soul,,! 👌🙋😍
Wow! Does it get any better than this, other than being there in the moment, up close and connected? Such passion, giving the music life and spirit, touching and filling the heart. I continue to be in awe of what this man can bring to life. Positively the best!
There's something really crazy about how many amazing guitar players come from UK in the 60s and 70s... Clapton, beck, Gilmour. Harrison , Brian May, Blackmore , page ... I can keep increasing this list going on for long time.
it starts playing…and it's magic…every note makes me dream and gives me serenity…thanks Eric for the gift you give us by playing music that tugs at the heart strings. By Silvia ❤
Amen to what Jeffrey said its hard to put into words what a man and his soul written songs that could come from any one of us how we feel for this many years is amazing . He has made careers for many musicians he gives back he shares he helps addicts and alcoholics how many musicians have done this with a quality of music that is timeless and my kids know Eric's music as day grandkids they don't get it yet but will mtigenerational in my family never stop Eric I Williston to my last breathe.
@@Hawk-gq2tt His voice is so underrated because of his superb, flawless guitar playing. JJ Cale never thought he could sing either, not Eric, but himself. 😄 Unlike McCartney, Eric keeps getting better! ❤
