Agreed! Phil Palmer is one of those guitarists who isnt that well known - and yet he has played as sideman and as a studio cat on many, many recordings. His musical unison with Eric here is just brilliant. Cannot wait for the 24 Nights extended edition due out in June when there will be even more.
Perfect tempo Eric - I first saw you live with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in the 1960's at the Flamingo club in London - you walked on stage wearing a full length fur coat, many of us then went to charity shops and bought second-hand fur coats!
I so love the intro, with Eric and Phil (Palmer) in sync as they harmonise. 'Shot' has gone from being a rather ok single to one of the live standouts. I was really disappointed when he didn't include it in his Hyde Park set around 4-5yrs ago.
@@guitarman8462 HA ! I Wish ARGENTINA ! now that I Can afford to go anywhere in the world (& I would go) but now my health is poor. So I went to the video. it was great....thank U😀
El concierto completo fue brillante, uno de los grandes que se hicieron en BuenosAires, pero el solo de EC es impresionante. Recuerdo que el estadio tembló. Literalmente.
I love it how he always looks the same since he started playing with Clapton in like 1972? And the Layla concert during which he plays the gong is so epic xD
In 1990 Clapton had just recently come out of rehab, but he looks just as high as ever. No, he wasn't on cocaine, that's just his passion for playing his guitar and his genius on doing it.
Isn't he just! Love Phil's playing. Went to an evening with ... a few yrs ago and was such a great entertainer with his stories. Oh and his playing wasn't too shoddy 😅😅
At risk of stating the obvious, Clapton is neither the boss nor the daddy, ladies and gentleman, Clapton is God. So we'd beitter start praying for more of these solo's.
I like his guitar tone a lot here and his solo is really good. On the down side, this is the second worst hairstyle of his career, behind only his perm in the 60s, and every successful musician worth their salt had stupid hair then. He had no excuse in the 90s.
