You can be cool but you will never be as cool as Eric Clapton playing on smoking guitar with Mark Knopfler and Elton John

I think this is one of, if not the best version of Layla ever performed live. Everything from the vocals to the legendary guitar playing, I think this version perfectly captures the emotion Layla should be played with.

I love how you can see that he's improvising that solo and then at about 5:21 he's like "man that sounds pretty cool I might stay here a while."

The tambourine player/percussionist is Ray Cooper. He played on most of Elton John's albums, played on a couple of George Harrison albums, and has played with dozens of artists live.

This is the best. Every player is having a Great time. I don't know how you do it Eric. From what I understand this is a tribute to your true love. That's got to be hard on you. But in a sense, you seem to be laying your acceptance of it in the ending instumental. Love it! Hope you are at peace with your ex. I feel sorry for her. But then I don't know the whole story.
